Description:

1970 Ford Thunderbird

Selling this 1970 Thunderbird for a friend's family after the owner passed away. It drives super smooth. It was restored in recent years and is pretty original/complete. He had multiple classic Fords and this was a primary family car for many years. Up until his last days he maintained them all regularly and made extensive maintenance/service notes and to-do's (He recorded every test drive, gas fill up, maintenance, etc). It’s an East Tennessee car and we get under 5 days of snow a year so the underside is clean.
It has a 429, automatic transmission, factory power disc brakes, power steering and aftermarket cruise control. Engine was rebuilt within 2000 miles ago (Notes about rebuild below). Very original and Odometer shows 81,XXX, and this looks to be 181,000 based on the documentation. Always garaged. Almost survivor status. It runs and drives amazing. This is truly a well-maintained clean car. These photos are basically as-is and I did not shine up the engine bay or interior prior to taking them.I have over 300 photos I can send to you, as well as take more.I can take a video of it starting and running. The car comes with pages and pages of handwritten maintenance records/notes. These notes had everything including gas fill ups, test drives, notes about drive, new tags, oil changes and what brand/type oil and what additives, paid insurance, tire inflation, new vacuum hoses, receipts for parts and rebuilds, part quotes, bulb replacements, tire inflation, etc. The trunk comes full of part boxes with original replaced parts and new (Older stock parts)
According to the‘Standard Catalog of American Cars' bookonly 1,925 Hardtops with bucket seats were made this year, and I'm sure less of those had no vinyl top. A Marti report for this car would be interesting as it seems pretty rare.
VIN - 0J83N113102(Built at the Los Angeles plant)The car is located in Knoxville Tennessee and it has a Clean Tennessee title. A marti report could be ran for it as well. Many more photos are in a gallery below. $500 deposit due when purchasing. Call (805) 405-0765 with any questions.

MECHANICAL429 V8 Engine - Motor rebuilt within a 2,000 miles. (Pulled Motor, Machined heads, Valve Job, New Timing Gear Chain, New Sealed, Valve Lifters, Painted block, etc)Automatic transmission - Works wellPower front discs (The car stops awesome)New Master CylinderPower steeringIt starts and runs great. Could likely use a carb rebuild as it stumbles when stepping on it (Likely the accelerator pump).I noticed it has a coolant leak from near the front but I haven’t chased this down. Looked to be coming from the radiator or a hose at first glance. Still totally drivable as-is.
INTERIOR:Dark Green interior looks as good in person as it does in the photosInterior is complete and basically perfect other than the driver's seat wear.
