1965 Ford Mustang

This Mustang is a restoration project. I bought it with the intentions of fixing it up, but I see now I am not going to get it done. The car has rust holes in the floors and I purchased new patch panels for the car and they do go with the car. I also purchased a patch repair for the trunk and new shackles for the springs. There is also a new fuel tank and sending unit that go with the car. The gentleman I purchased it from did not know a lot about the car. He purchased it and left it sitting in his garage for seven years just the way it is now. He thinks the car has a 302 2-barrel carb and a 3-speed manual transmission. According to the door codes it is suppose to be a factory 1964.5 with a 289 4-speed. It does currently has a 3-speed in it. I do NOT have the original 289 4-barrel or the 4-speed transmission! I did hook a small gas tank to the engine and was able to start it. Only ran it for a few seconds, but it did sound good. The title does match the vin on the door. There is no vin under the hood, so I did pull the drivers side fender loose and the correct VIN is under the fender. There are boxes of parts that came with the car as seen in the pictures. It has two front seats, but one is missing the floor track. The back seat is in poor condition as seen in the pictures. I did research the Data Plate on the door and the car breaks down this way: Body 65A 2-door hardtop, standard bucket seats Color K Exterior color Silversmoke Gray Trim 85 Interior trim red with red trim Date 10 F 10 June, First Year DSO 61 Dallas Axle 1 Rear axle 3.00:1 Tran 5 Transmission 4-speed Manual 5 1965 {1964.5 shows 1965 here} F Assembly Plant Dearborn, MI 07 2-Door Hardtop D Engine 289 Cu. In. V8 4bbl 162335 Consecutive unit # 162335 . It is being sold as is and the buyer has to pick it up in person or arrange all shipping. Thanks for looking! Note: The wiring to the engine is not hooked up so none of the dash instrumentation has been tested. I just hot-wired the engine when I started it. Also the car does have rust as seen in the pictures. The frame and shock towers appear to be solid from what I can tell. I tried taking a couple of pictures from under the car as seen. I hope this answers some of the questions. Thanks NOTE: It does have an Illinois Title in my name.
