Price: - Item location: Oakland, New Jersey, United States
Description:

1965 Ford Mustang Deluxe

What you are looking at is a project Mustang Convertible but it is my belief none come better than this one. Very rare K color is silver smoke Grey, a totally unique and beautiful color that is just a little less blue than silver blue. I have a picture of the door tag which I will have to add later. the car has a production date of June 25, 1964 (clearly before the 65's were available!!!

It is a factory 260 2V V8 engined car.. Many of the 64.5 mustangs are of the 170 and 200 Cubic inch variety. Besides being a V8, car originally it is a manual trans car.. again 80 % of the mustangs built for the 1964.5 model year are 6 cyl and either auto or 3 speed manual trannied cars. This car is also a convertible in a very nice blue originally.

What is best yet is that the car comes with the original door tag, See picture, and VIN and clear NJ title.

And while not pictured what also is there for sake of my saying this car is special is the original 260 V8 and the 3 speed tranny. If you know your mustangs and the early ones specifically, that means yes all the 64.5 totally unique parts are still with the car.

**Again the original 260 and that means its a 5 bolt block and the transmission is what they call the narrow pattern tranny (unique bell housing, etc).

** This means things like the 25 spline unique yoke and driveshaft are still there.

** The draft tube (pre PCV system) is still there.

** The unique horns

**AND the unique generator (versus for 1965 alternator) is there also.

The convertible top is in great shape needing recovery of course.

** the car is a power top car, also unique in 1964.5 models.

What I have for the car that is not pictured is the trunk lid, hood, RS fender and headlight buckets..

While the car is not 100% complete, it really is not missing anything unique for the car to be a 50,000 plus original show car..

what the car does need is a total restoration. Starting with the center floor boards which have already been begun to remove. What I can tell you here now is if you wanted the car with the new metal necessary, I can purchase and sell to you at no profit and save you hundreds if not maybe a little more. By example the one piece floor pan costs 450/500 retail. I order as a jobber and pay $250, that's what you would pay..( again iff you wanted it) I also have two guys (Id call friends) who could do the welding necessary to the car at a lot less than a restoration specialty house. and lastly, Frankly, I could restore the car for you but I would hate to be building this car for someone else cause I love the car still.

I am advertising this car first but I will also be listing the following mustangs for sale (as I have to sell off some project cars following my divorce).

The cars I have I will be selling soon (so youcould inquire now) are..

another 1964.5 Convertible 6cyl 3 speed car.

1966 Convertible V8 auto car

1967 Convertible V8 auto car

1969 Mach 1 V8 351 W car auto Acapulco blue with white interior car

1972 Olympic edition fastback

1973 Mach one

and lastly a 1967 GT350 Shelby project car. Now this car is very rusty, but an early car, and while I bought it to have a brother to my other 67 gt350 and my 2007 gt500 (with 400 miles on her).. But I may just sell her as she sits. and if I told you its a 25k to 30 k car, it is.. but again, it needs about everything..

Thank you.

Tony/serious buyers should call me... 551 204 0707

Lastly, on the 64.5 car, I purchased and will include for the reserve price, a narrow pattern 4 speed manual top loader transmission. the trans alone is a very rare piece and probably worth every bit of 750 to 1000.

I will add more pics to the auction as it runs. thanks

I welcome all calls.
