1968 Ford Mustang --

Summers almost here! Check out this stunning Red on Red Mustang and see why they are about the best-selling convertibles of all time. They are sporty, handle well, and are just all-around fun to drive. Everyone recognizes the classic good looks of an early 'Stang too, so it's bound to attract attention wherever you go. This car started life as a sweet ride with Fords unique 2041-A Lime Gold paint. During its refresh and reconditioning, the decision was made to... be dramatic, so it was drenched in the glossy red paint you see here. At the front of the car, a thin chrome bumper leads the way with a galloping Mustang in the center of the grill just above it. There are also factory fog lights dressed in their trick chrome bezels on each side of the grill. The hood has a unique feature with cutouts containing blinker indicators so that the driver can see when they are operating. At the rear of the car, you have the iconic 3 tail lights on each side dressed nicely in their chrome bezels and surrounded by a thin chrome strip across the top, and the straight as an arrow bumper below. Some splashes of flash also trim the wheel wells and along the rocker panel. Chromed steel wheels and Red Line tires are the perfect complement to this red paint. The interior of this car is a perfect combination of painted metal, rich red upholstery, and fine chrome highlights. Open the door and will immediately get the idea by checking out the horizontally pleated door panel with its chrome pin stripe outlining it. Turn your gaze to the seats, and you will find vertically pleated seats that have an exposed chrome frame supporting the back. There is a rich red boot to neatly dress the power convertible top while it is down, and red carpets underlying the picture. A black two spoke steering wheel with a Mustang center and a chrome half circle horn ring sits in front of a dash panel that is hooded from the glare of the sun by a vinyl dash pad. Two large and three small gauges are nestled in a black panel trimmed in chrome that extends all the way to the passenger side. A Kenwood stereo sits in the center with the T-handle shifter for the automatic trans just below it. Remember that decision to be dramatic made during the reconditioning process? Well an upgrade to a 351 was one way to ensure some drama when desired. These engines were torque monsters just the way they were delivered from the factory, so a stock rebuild was all that was needed to launch this light little ragtop down the road with plenty of speed at the press of the go pedal. It is nestled in a neat and clean engine bay and dressed in the correct Ford Blue colors. A chrome air topper and embossed Ford valve covers add a nice touch to the look. Power steering and power brakes all around work through a front suspension of control arms with coil springs with a sway bar, and in the back, leaf springs with coil over shocks offer a bit of extra control to handle the power from that 351. The rubber meets the road through 195/75R14 Red Line tires on all four corners mounted on those shiny chromed wheels. Come on down and check out this great looking, great running Mustang convertible today. It's time to get ready for summer!
