Description:

1930 Ford Model A

You are looking at a 1930 Ford Model A Tudor Coupe.
I have owned this car since 2005 and bought it to drive. It's the most fun you can have at 45 miles per hour. Health issues forces sale.
Things that are not original to a 1930 Ford:
  • Wheels & tires: the wheels are 16-inch Kelsey-Hayes bent-spoke wheels with 6.50x16 tires. (A desirable upgrade, even in the 1930s)
  • Cowl lights: the cowl lights were introduced in 1931.
  • Electrical system is now 12 volts, with an alternator.

Things I have done since owning the car:
  • Replaced the head with a higher compression head, adding 10 horsepower (now 50 hp)
  • Replaced the distributor with a Mallory with automatic spark advance.
  • Replaced the water pump and hoses, and added a thermostat.
  • Rebuilt the radiator cap and moto-meter.
  • Replaced all the brake linings and added "floaters" in the front.
  • Changed the electrical system from 6-volts to 12-volts, starts much better and safer to drive at night. (I have everything to change it back.)
  • Replaced the gaskets in the fuel gauge.
  • Repainted the left-rear fender. (Needs to be wet-sanded and polished.)

Issues:
  • The paint has many flaws, especially where a previous owner did some poorly executed touch-ups.
  • The upholstery is shot. The front seats have been reupholstered at one time but are now worn out. The back seat is ratty.
  • The roof on the outside is pulling slightly away from it's attachment in the back and leaks water, which has resulted in the headliner having some staining in the rear and sagging a bit. People don't notice unless they are looking for it, and I don't drive it in the rain.
  • It leaks a very small bit of oil.
  • Tires are very old. They hold air just fine, and I have no problem driving around town on them.
I have everything to change the car back to 6 volts, and I have the old distributor, which is worn out. I also have everything to add turn signals, which I never got around to installing.
Car cover included. (I paid over $200 for it.)
