1965 Ford F-100

Old trucks are popular for a lot of reasons: they look cool, they pack V8 power, and they can still do some work on weekends, making them a great way to justify owning a vintage vehicle. This 1965 Ford F-100 seems happy to do whatever you ask: it runs great, it looks like an old truck should look, and it doesn't mind carrying your stuff. Oh, and it's extremely affordable.
Dressed in black, this Ford gets attention but isn't so perfect that you can't use it every day, even on the job site. It's an older paint job and it's showing some age, but the blacked-out look still seems very relevant and seems to highlight the unusual fender lines on the vintage F-100. It shines up well and you'll be proud to roll into the cruise night behind the wheel, and with the flashy rolling stock under it, it's got a hot rod vibe. It doesn't appear to have ever been wrecked or rusty and all the original trim remains in place, so there's no mistaking it for anything else. We're especially fond of the bright strip of stainless running down the flanks, which contrasts brightly with the black paint and the big, red emblems on the front fenders. Out back you have a bed that's lined with real wood planks, but they have a weathered look that only time can buy. It also means you can still use this truck as intended without worrying about scratching some beautiful dance floor.
Bright red upholstery always works well with black paint and you'll find this truck hasn't changed much since 1965. The seat has been wrapped with a funky vinyl cover that cleans things up a bit, but for the most part, it's pretty original. The big steering wheel and column-shifted 3-speed manual transmission are idea for a vintage pickup and the simple central speedometer is how most trucks were equipped. Bare rubber mats were part of the deal too, since trucks were designed to work. That also means no radio, but you might not miss it here since the V8 up front sounds so good. There is a modern oil pressure gauge under the dash, but that's really the only sign that it's not 1965. Kind of cool, right?
Ford's rugged and torquey 352 cubic inch V8 lives under this F-100's hood and it does a great job of making it feel quick around town. Painted bright red to match the interior, it also features things like chrome valve covers, a custom air cleaner, and a minimum of add-ons to get in the way of reliability. Turn the key and it fires up easily and there's a throaty burble from the dual exhaust, which features a pair of glasspack-style mufflers. It's been well maintained and doesn't get fussy out on the road, mostly because there's a giant radiator up front and the hardware has been proven for decades. The 3-speed manual shifts nicely and clutch action is reasonable for a truck, so you won't mind driving it every chance you get. It's original but clean underneath, showcasing a lifetime in the warm south, and nothing has been modified or altered so it'll be easy to maintain. A Ford 9-inch rear end should last virtually forever and it sits on flashy polished aluminum wheels with white-letter radials to help with the sporty demeanor.
This is not a perfect truck, but with a little elbow grease, it could certainly stand out. Right now, enjoy the ride and get a little work done on the sides. This Ford doesn't mind. Call today!
