1965 Ford Mustang fastback 2+2. Factory 289-4V A code, four speed, Rally Pack, disc brake car. Numbers matching. Rare factory Honey Gold paint (code C) with Ivy Green interior (code 28). This is a stunning color combination... The original door tag confirms the rare factory options and color combination. Very rare optioned low mile original survivor. Rare factory options include; A code 289-4V motor, Rally Pack, front disc brakes, and top loader four speed. This car has only 126,800 original miles. I purchased this car from the second owner who lived in Arizona. The car was originally sold new in Utah to the original owner. Being a Utah/Arizona car the he body is very dry and has never had any rust. Full bare metal window out paint job to its factory original color of Honey Gold. Near mint original Ivy Gold interior. A lot of time and money has gone into the preservation of this low mile survivor.
. I have all of the stock parts that will go with the car (radiator, 4V intake, hub caps, valve covers, air cleaner, radiator over flow bag, bumpers, front seat belts, ect.) See pictures.
MOTOR- Approx 20k miles on rebuilt original 289-4V motor. Headers with H pipe exhaust. New dual flow master mufflers, tail pipes, hangars, and tips. The car sounds awesome with the deep throaty tones of the exhaust. New aluminum radiator, Edelbrock Performer intake manifold, Holley Street Avenger four barrel carburetor, water pump, fuel pump, gas lines, fan, chrome valve covers and air cleaner. Fresh complete tune up including, plugs, coolant flush, oil change, spark plugs, cap, rotor, wires, fuel filter, belts, radiator hoses, ect. The entire front end was recently greased as well the drive line u-joints. The motor starts immediately and sounds awesome. 50 lbs. oil pressure at idle. I use non ethanol fuel only.
TRANSMISSION & DIFFERENTIAL- 3.00 gear ratio with limited slip posi. Original four speed top loader transmission. Upgraded Hurst shifter with new shift bushings. Fresh transmission and differential service. The transmission shifts crisp and precise.
ELECTRICAL- New battery, alternator, high torque starter, coil, pick up coil, voltage regulator, electronic ignition, ignition module, starter solenoid, and ignition switch. All of the electrical in in good working order. works great. The fuel gauge, volt, temp, and oil pressure gauges, dash lights, radio, dome light, interior lights, ect, all work properly.
PAINT/BODY- According to the second owner, both he and the original owner always garaged the car. This is evident as the original interior is in pristine condition. The body is in exceptional preserved condition with no rust. The car received a full bare metal repaint in 2013. The car was repainted its original color of Honey Gold. The car has been driven approximately 1500 miles since. The body was completely disassembled ie; doors, hood, trunk, bumpers, trim, glass, ect. were removed. New windshield. The door jambs, interior side of the doors, and trunk area were all repainted. The paint job alone cost over $12,000. New front and rear bumpers (originals included). GT fog lights were installed. All of the door, window, body and rubber seals were replaced. The undercarriage has been preserved amazingly well with the factory/dealer installed undercoating. The undercarriage, original floors, rockers, ect. are pristine as seen in the pictures.
INTERIOR- Near mint original interior (Ivy Gold). The interior is all original with the exception of the front seat upholstery. I just had the front seats professionally redone with exact reproduction seat upholstery and padding. New aluminum seat side trim and sill plates. The original carpet, visors, and headliner are in near mint condition. I replaced the original seat belts with Shelby style racing lap belts (very similar to the belts in my 66 Shelby). Updated wood steering wheel, new rubber floor mats. The rear seat upholstery is original and in near mint condition with little to no wear. Perfect dash, and original door panels.
SUSPENSION/WHEELS/TIRES- New rear leaf springs, upgraded performance shocks front and rear. All of the front end bushings, upper and lower ball joints were replaced. Chrome strut tower brace. Fresh alignment. Brand new BF Goodrich tires. 215/60/15 front and 245/60/15 rear. Brand new 7 and 8 inch chrome Magnum 500 wheels with center caps. This car has the perfect stance...
OTHER- New gas tank, fuel sender, heater core, heater blower motor, and heater box seal. The door and trunk locks all work with a key.
This is a very rare optioned Mustang. Very few were ordered with these options and color combinations. Factory A code, disc brakes, Rally Pack, and a four speed top loader. Essentially this Mustang has the same options as a GT. I never thought I would consider selling this Mustang, however I also have a 1966 Shelby GT 350 and need the room for other cars in my collection. Many hours and thousands of dollars have gone into the preservation of this low mile survivor. Serious buyers only. This is a very reliable and good driving car. The Mustang runs, drives, handles, and looks exceptional. Clean Washington title.
