BODYWORK/TRIM

The beneficiary of an extensive, round-up restoration, his slick '60s pony features a vivid layer of red pigment that's been sealed in glossy clear, ighlighted with black racing stripes and trimmed in stylish Mach 1 bolt-ons. Take one look down the sides of the car's rock-solid body and it becomes very obvious that great care was taken to ensure every panel is aligned to better-than-factory standards. Step closer to that body's slick 2-stage and check out its straight and ripple-free surfaces, hich are a product of both clean OEM sheetmetal and high quality replacement panels. Grab the pivotal pieces of that well-adjusted sheetmetal and experience the kind of excellent fit that's right at home reflecting a summertime car show. Then step back and admire one very well done resto-mod that's built to exacting specifications thanks to a great combination of skilled workmanship and first-rate finishing techniques.

ENGINE

Hoist this Mustang's snug-fitting hood and you'll find a tough, 27 cubic inch Ford V8 that's been fully balanced by Kernodles Automotive Service of Norfolk, irginia. At the top of the big mill, finned, hunderbird-branded air filter funnels wind in to a coated Holley 750 Double Pumper. A resulting air/fuel mixture makes its way from an Edelbrock Performer RPM intake to Edelbrock Performer RPM heads, hich hide under a familiar pair of finned valve covers. When those heads flood the cylinders, n aftermarket distributor sequences fire through pliable plug wires while a stout Comp cam shoots spent gases through Hooker Super Competition headers. The hot engine's cooling is provided by a Ron Davis radiator, hich rides in front of two SPAL puller fans and a high quality Edelbrock water pump. Charge comes courtesy of a March pulley system, hich spins a polished alternator opposite a polished AC compressor. And overall, he car's clean, atin Black engine bay is very well done; featuring details like polished breathers, olor-keyed fluid reservoirs and old school Autolite plumbing.

DRIVETRAIN/SUSPENSION

At the bottom of this Ford, freshened undercarriage houses solid, atin Black floors that are mapped with carefully chosen upgrades. Behind the buff FE, tough Tremec 5-speed twists a proven Ford 9-inch. That rear end rolls on what appears to be a TCI Torque Arm set-up, hich is finished with modern coil-over-shocks. Opposite that clip, hat appears to be a TCI front-half employs two more modern coil-over-shocks. Turns come courtesy of power rack-and-pinion steering. Stops are provided by power-assisted Wilwood calipers, hich squeeze four drilled and slotted rotors. The aforementioned headers dump spent gases in to coated, arge-diameter pipes, hich employ a coated crossover and coated, ual-chamber mufflers. And power scorches the pavement through polished Boyd's wheels, hich twist 245/40ZR18 Nitto NT555 Extreme ZRs in front of 285/40ZR18 Nitto NT555 Extreme ZRs.

INTERIOR

Behind the doors, factory-style Deluxe interior features freshly re-covered seats and traditional wood applique that adds a little class to the car's race-inspired shell. Everything from the tight headliner to the "Mach 1" branded floor mats appears restoration-fresh. The dash loads rebuilt gauges over a direct-fit radio that commands two large Custom Autosound speakers. At the floor, long Hurst shifter rides inside a stylish, ard-lined console. In front of the driver, Rim Blow Steering Wheel spins thin spokes around a patriotic Mustang emblem. At the sides of the passengers, onservative door panels hide super cool Mustang puddle lamps. And behind the cockpit, plush trunk features a plenty of space to haul trophies.
