Hello,
Selling a 1986 Mustang GT t-top hatchback rolling chassis/project car in unmolested condition. Background: I purchased this car from a mechanic who worked at a ford dealership(Original OWNER-I am the 2nd owner of this car.......................yeeeeee haaaaa), and was going to move and not take the car. The drive-line he kept for a Factory 5 roadster project he was working on in his shop. My plans for the car was to cut the entire front end off this since the four-eyed 1979-1986 mustangs are getting very very hard to find now a days and online parts are expensive for these(bumper, trim, t-tops, etc.). I have a 1986 notch back coupe that has been my pride and joy(another project) the past 6 months, but extensive frame damage was hidden from me at time of purchase locally(from Craigslist >.<). I need the entire front frame rails and radiator support from the shock towers forward replaced. Plan: after inspecting the condition of this GT, it turns out to be in excellent condition structurally with NO accidents. I have owed 22 of these cars(1979-1995) and all of mine have been crashed lol, so this was something special. I cannot in my right mind, destroy this gem(southwest-no rust car) since I love seeing these cars still on the road. THEREFORE................. today I would like to sell this project(as-is-but I do have the front seats(original red halo high back bucket seats-I stole them for my notchback ;) ) to another mustang foxbody enthusiast who will give it the love and time to bring her back/road worthy. Just a quick list below that I have found with the car:
The Good:
1) no rust
2) structurally sound with no accidents(small low impact bump on hood and passenger headlight bucket, but very easy to repair-radiator support is pristine.
3) clear NM title in my name
4) stock exhaust still on it o.0
5) weld in sub frame connectors
6) 2:73 original 8.8 posi rear end
7) factory GT suspension package-different spring rate from other models for 1986
8)JBL factory audio system
9) 98% of all trim is there and included
10) original 10 hole wheels
11) new struts less than 4 months old
12) looks to have original ford glass all around
13) has factory 4 lug spare and jack...........in hatchback/trunk
14) fender, buck plate, door, and dash vin all MATCH!!!!!!!
The Bad:
1) missing trans mount cross-member
2) need front engine wiring harness
3) no ECM (VM1-speed density FI- i may have one tho or can pull it from my notchback)
4) missing back louver cover on hatchback glass/stolen
5) drivers window not rolled up/been stored with car cover over it to protect from elements
6) no front seats-but i do have them
7) MARCH fog lights not original, looks like another brand replacements on it now
8) missing rear quad shocks
9) no keys-door, ignition
10) hatchback lock missing in cover
11) ac unit missing some parts in engine bay
12) missing some emissions items in engine bay
13) missing front wheel wells/plastic trim
14) no master cylinder/boaster
15) 1988 black cheese grader tailights/not original
16) back bumper has small tear/drivers side
Please ask questions, this is just what I can think of atm, and I may add more detail later when I go outside and look the car over again. The pics show the front end off the car, this was done to inspect the condition of the front frame for damage----which there is none. I can hang the front end back, or put it completely back on if you like ;). Buyer is responsible for pick-up in Albuquerque NM, I do not have a trailer to meet you halfway. Very nice southwest car here, if you live in the east coast/Texas etc where all these are rust buckets-rest assured this is a beautiful platform to start your build.
I accept PAYPAL for the deposit, but for entire balance that is fine as well. I cannot accept cashiers check, reg check, or money order as payment in person.
