Description:

1970 Ford Mustang

1970 Ford Mustang Sportsroof. Original Grabber series car refinished in its original Grabber Green color with black standard interior. This is a well put together driver quality car that will turn some heads. It looks very good and has a classic rumble to the exhaust. It drives up the road straight, has plenty of power, and will make someone a perfect drivable classic muscle car. Deluxe Marti report included. I have only put a couple test miles on the car since we completed it due to the weather, as seen in the pictures... It has a small drip from the shift selector on the trans that I will address. Other than that I've had no other problems. It starts and idles very good. All new fluids throughout. Front end has been greased. I have not yet had the car aligned but will before the new owner takes possession. It did not walk around but I want to ensure its right for the new owner.

Body: The body retains all of its original exterior sheetmetal with the exception of the hood and front valance. All of the parts that were reused were in very good shape and retained original paint before sanding for repaint. Because mostly original parts were used the car lines up very well. The paint is Nason base coat/clear coat. It has a great shine and of course the one of a kind paint scheme on this car is amazing. The side stripes are as original. We added the hood stripe to fit with an original non functional hood scoop (no badges or lights). We also dressed the car up with a new set of original style rear window louvers, front spoiler, rear spoiler, and blacked out tail light panel. Driver side remote sport mirror and standard passenger side sport mirror. The chrome and stainless trim on the car is mostly original. That being said it is nice but not perfect. We replaced a handful of pieces that were not salvageable but tried to keep the car original in most aspects. We did add wheel lip moldings, new hood molding, and exterior door handles. The glass is all original except the windshield.

Interior: The inside was refinished in original standard black, new seat covers, carpet, headliner, package tray, sail panels, scuff plates, and dash cover. The door panels and arm rests are original.

Electrical: The head lights, bright and dim, turn signals, emergency lights, marker lights, windshield wipers etc. are all functional. The sport lamp grill was an extra I added. I do not have the correct wiring harness but when plugged in temporarily the lights are also functional. Blower motor works. New neutral safety switch, reverse lights work great. All of the dash lighting works, new light switch, and all interior lighting works correctly. The original AM radio does not work.

Engine/Trans/Mechanical: The car is originally an F code 302 2V. I have the original numbers matching engine that is not installed in the car. The original C4 transmission is in the car. We decided to go with a little change up on the engine. It has a 351 Cleveland 4V. Was recently rebuilt by a local machine shop. Flat top pistons, Erson cam, all new bearings, etc. New Holley 600 carb with electric choke, alternator, water pump. The car retains its original power steering, it has standard drum brakes, 8" standard rear end, its original C4 automatic transmission, new custom flow master exhaust, and all new upper and lower control arms, tie rod ends and sleeves, rebuilt PS slave cylinder, new radiator and fan shroud. The car originally had air conditioning but we did not reinstall it. All of the dash components are there but in unknown condition.

Undercarriage: The floor pan was replaced with a one piece dynacorn floor, along with each of the trunk pans. It was seam sealed and painted in grey as original. The frame rails all in great shape. Undercoating was applied to the inner and outer wheel wells as well as the very bottom of the quarter panels for protection.

Wheels/Tires: The tires are like new, wheels are an original Ford set of Magnum 500's. The have some pitting/flaking but still present nicely, new center caps and lug nuts.

Overall the car is a very nice driver. Its unique features of the grabber series color and trim scheme, along with some tasteful modification sets this car apart from the others. Please call or email with any questions. I can offer enclosed delivery of the car within a few hundred miles for an additional fee or work it in on the right offer. Thanks for your time and happy bidding!!
