1960 Ford FalconIf you want to get attention, this is the car for you! Prepare to have people ask to take pictures of your car everywhere you go! You have probably seen or heard of the Ford Falcon, this is its much rarer Canadian cousin The Frontenac! These fine little cars were sold through Mercury Dealers for one year only in 1960, then discontinued. It’s estimated only about 19 or so are left on the road today, making it a rare car, but one that is very easy to get parts for as it is nearly identical to a Falcon!
I am the second owner of this car, it was loved belt cared for by its previous owners for many years. It did not start life as a police car, these period correct parts were installed later to advertise our business and are authentic period police parts, they are not wired up but could ups be made to function fairly easily, and they did make Falcon police vehicles so everything is as it would have been.
This car is a daily driver, In fact I drove it to work today! It starts right up and gets you around hassle free. I have had the following repairs done to make it a safe driver. New brakes, drums and master cylinder, head rebuilt, new plugs wires and cap, new heater core, new heater fan. New tires with 90% tread. New baby moon hubcaps. New wiper blades. Previous owner did floors and rockers in the 80’s
What it needs, if you are fussy about cosmetics then the interior has some wear, it’s very useable but has some wear through the drivers seat bottom, hasn’t bothered me. The paint is old and in average condition, presentable but not mint by any means. There is filler in the rear quarters and will need new rear quarters at some time. There is some rust in various places on the car that should be repaired at some point. The radio quit on me this week, it’s Tube so maybe needs a new tube or fuse? Haven’t checked yet.
Not a perfect car, more of a ‘rat’ Squad car, but it is fully insured with clean title and like I said it’s a reliable daily driver, and there is something to be said about that :)
It’s a very cute car and gets lots of attention!Shipping is responsibility of buyer. Sold as is, in need of restoration due to age of vehicle. No warranty of course :) Located In Edmonton AB
