1969 Ford Mustang Mach 1 Cobra Jet

When you see a fully restored 1969 Ford Mustang Mach 1 with a 428 Cobra Jet V8 the appeal is black and white...and that's literally true in this case. So when this one comes with everything you could want from A/C to the window sticker copy you soon realize this muscle pony machine has the best of everything.
We love this one for the way it mixes the Mustang tradition with the powerful ponies that came later in life. It starts with the paintwork. Wimbledon White was the color of the first Mustang, so it's something always close to enthusiast's hearts. That makes it especially nice to see it in such a bright and shining condition thanks to a full rotisserie restoration that happened around 1,000 miles ago. But of course, the original car was never as wild as this coupe. The Mach 1 was the perfect canvas to showcase Ford's refreshed Mustang for 1969. The body was stretched to have a meaner street presence, and this new premium package was not shy about its prowess. This Mach 1 looks ready for the track with standard hood pins and flat black hood paint to reduce glare for the driver. And of course, everyone loves the desirable (and functional) shaker hood on top. The correct red and gold stripe package adds a bold standout to this white & black presentation, but the best accent pieces are the brightwork. The GT wheels look great, all the trim is correct, and the bumpers are so mirror-like that ladies will use them to check their makeup.
Buyers paid plenty extra for a Mach 1, and so Ford made sure they got their money's worth. The moment you open the door, you can instantly tell there was plenty left in the restoration budget for the interior. It looks fresh, dark, and premium just like it did when this coupe left the Dearborn factory. Plenty of wood trim warms up the atmosphere on places like the center console, door panels, dash, and Rim-Blow deluxe steering wheel. And we especially love the details, like how the red stripe running across the high-back bucket seats is reminiscent of the exterior stripe. This one really has the feeling of a solid investment in retaining period-correct presentation on everything from the clear gauge package, to the working AM/FM 8-track stereo. But there is one modern upgrade that you won't see, but absolutely feel. The factory air conditioning is now running R134a to keep you cool for years to come.
This is an R-code Mustang, which means the big block 428 cubic inch V8 with ram air is under this hood. This date-correct motor looks fantastically correct in the engine bay with Ford's bold blue radiating power from underneath the Cobra Jet intake. And this is more than just the look of performance. Engines from this era were famously underrated, so the impressive 335 hp rating from the factory was really probably closer to a mind-blowing 400 hp. The V8 mated to a stout Ford C6 three-speed automatic transmission. The combination of the Mach 1 package and this big engine further sweetened the deal by automatically getting upgraded to Ford's HD competition suspension. This beefed up the front spindles, shocks, shock towers, and anti-roll bar to make sure that this Mustang could handle the extra muscle. But don't just read about this, check it all out in the undercarriage photos. There you'll also how the pristine-level of essential (but hardly seen) components is the true advantage of a rotisserie restoration. And as much as we talk about street-eating power, this Mach 1 is also easy in everyday cruising thanks to features like power steering and front disc brakes.
The sale comes with the reproduction window sticker, factory buildsheet, and a Marti Report. This is a turnkey ready speedy classic with a lot of 'Wow' factor. So hurry up and call today on this big block Mach 1!
