1965 Ford Mustang Pro Touring

Powerful pony cars with bold looks are always in style. But with a fire-breathing 347 stroker V8, race-ready upgraded suspension, and four-wheel disc brakes, this 1965 Ford Mustang Pro Touring fastback is going to turn some heads as it shows them its taillights.
The 2+2 fastback style is rare and desirable today, but this one is even more special. Ford made over half a million Mustangs in 1965, but only 5,776 were built to 63B Luxury spec. But there is obviously far more to this one than just its rarity. It presents its custom aggression in a very subtle way. This starts with the Pepper Grey Metallic acrylic urethane paint. It gives this Mustang a shine that exists directly on the surface of the paint. It's an older-school kind of cool that feels kin to the Highland Green Bullitt Mustang. In fact, speaking of that legend, the blacked-out grille reminds us of it, too. The same goes for the black torque thrust style wheels, except these are actually larger and fortified PS Engineering Trans Am 17-inch alloys. And the subtle upgrades go well beyond the wheels. The flared fenders, hood pins, sport mirrors, side exhaust, and much more help clue people in on the level of performance investment that went into this classic fastback.
Inside there's plenty of race-ready components. It starts with a pair of Sparco racing seats. These are from the Milano Prestige series that nicely blend the bolstering needed for cornering with supple leather and extra padding for added comfort. In fact, the seats are the perfect way to introduce you to an interior full of both modern comforts and competition-worthy components. You get great features like power windows, cruise control, and a custom 1,000-watt stereo system that features four-eight-inch subwoofers built into a custom rear panel. There are even provisions for R134a air conditioning. But the moment you pass through the full roll cage and strap yourself into the four-point racing harnesses, you know this is a serious performance machine. You get a grippy Lecarra sports steering wheel, and beyond that is a full set of AutoMeter gauges set in a custom billet dash. And the few gauges that you don't see directly in front of the wheel are part of a trio just ahead of the beefy shifter. Oh yeah, your senses know this is a beast even before you twist the key and hear it roar.
The moment you pop the hood everyone looking will instantly know this is a serious machine. You're looking at a race-ready 302 cubic-inch V8 that's been stroked to 347ci total. It has been further enhanced with performance components such as 10.8:1 compression, Air Flow Research aluminum heads, CNC ported Trick Flow 192 cylinder heads, solid roller lifter camshaft, T&D shaft mount rocker arms, Edelbrock Super Victor intake, and multi-point electronic fuel injection w/42lb injectors. There's so much more to go over on the motor, but we just don't have the room to list it here, so please call for all the details. Just know that this V8 makes serious power, and the header-fed dual exhaust really lets the world know it with its thunderous sound. In fact, you should check out the full exhaust path in the undercarriage photos, there you'll also spot great upgrades. This includes a tubbier A-arm front suspension, an aluminum fuel cell, and a fortified four-link rear end with coilovers. Not only is that far superior to a stock '65 Mustang, but you also get total control with Baer Pro-Series four-wheel disc brakes and modern Hankook Ventus ZR-rated tires. In fact, this is such a thoughtful build that you have a four-speed AOD-e transmission with HGM compu-shift controller. It was built by Finish Line Transmissions so that it's stout enough for the monster motor, but it can also instantly adapt for overdrive cruising.
This Mustang is vintage where you want it; custom in all the right places; and upgraded to be the baddest '65 fastback on the road. It's a total package that's turnkey ready to win you awards and keep you searching for the long way home. Call today!!!
