1988 Ford Mustang GT

Up for sale is my one of a kind 1988 Mustang Gt/Cobra style tribute car. This thing has been completely gone through. I mean everything is new or has been redone. Its time to sell it. I don't drive it much and I would like to move on from it. It started off as any other mustang from the 80s you'd see. Ive had it since 1998. It was a very lengthy build with all the modifications to it.
Exterior: The list of mods to the exterior are tastefully done. The car started out as a rust free project as I bought it. The windshield wipers and radio antenna have been shaved. Door handles and locks eliminated and remote controlled door poppers installed. The original square fuel door was removed to install a round donor opening for the aluminum remote activated fuel door. The most subtle and craziest exterior modification to the car is the extending of the rear quarter panels approximately 2" to give it that "wide body" look to house the 10" wide rear wheels. The rear lips have also been rolled to provide extra room for tire clearance when its dropped. This entire process of widening and rolling took a very long time to do to maintain the correct body lines after it was completed. I tell you this, I would never do it again! It was painstaking. Convertible power mirrors have been installed as well. Original mirror holes filled and trim pieces made to hide the edge. Cobra grille insert and a Ford OE Cobra rear bumper cover have been installed for the Cobra look. All fit perfectly. 4" cowl hood by Harwood. The paint has been done right. Everything taken apart to make it legit. Its Ford Toreador red with more copper pearl and course red metallic in it. An amazing color. It still shows very nice as well. There are a few small chips on it from just normal driving but not bad. I have extra paint just in case of a touch up.
Interior: The inside has been given some love as well. A lot of handmade carbon fiber work was integrated for a little more of a sporty inside experience as the insides of these cars are pretty uneventful. Once the parts were made for the center console, armrests and vent surrounds, they received a couple coats of candy red to really give it a different look. Custom flame door handles where used to get rid of the plastic parts. Custom door panels and speaker pods with 6" Audiobahn mid bass speakers cover the doors. New carpet and floor mats. 2008 Mustang leather seats where modified and installed front and rear. The drivers seat is power. Triple gauge pod with Autometer A/F ratio, oil pressure and water temp gauges. 5" sport comp tach and shift light. Relocated working temperature controls for the AirRide technologies digital control center. Custom made window switch bezels to delete the lock switch. The sound system in this thing is simple but effective. Its all Audiobahn. The 10" dual voice coil sub hits harder than you really need but its super cool!
Braking and chassis: The braking on this car is handled by a set of 03/04 Cobra front brakes and Lincoln Mark VII rear disc. The 8.8 axle has been rebuilt with an Auburn pro differential and 3.73 motive gears. Ford racing aluminum drive shaft. Adjustable rear upper spherical control arms and HPM megabite jr lowers. HPM rear panhard bar. All polyurethane bushings. Front crossmember has been changed out to a QA1 tubular with original control arms and a bump steer kit. Full Air Ride Technologies air suspension with the compressor and tank hidden in the spare tire wheel well. New power rack and pinion installed as well. Shocks and struts are chrome plated KYB. Adjustable HPM polished aluminum caster camber plates.
Drivetrain: This car moves around very well thanks to the blueprinted and balanced 327 stroker inside. Custom grind cam with all new forged internals and no expense spared with the engine. 10.5:1 compression ratio. Pretty much everything has been chrome plated or painted. Victor 5.0 intake. Accufab 75 MM throttle body. 7 Quart moroso oil pan. March billet underdrive pulleys and covers. All new accessories including 130Amp alternator with upgraded wiring. All of the A/C components and parts are new. Its never been charged with freon so that will need to be done at some point. Brand new heater core installed as well. Fluidyne aluminum radiator with Lincoln Mark VIII electric cooling fan which is controlled by the AEM computer. Fabricated aluminum chrome plated valve covers. Handmade carbon fiber accent covers throughout. Heavy duty world class T5 with King Cobra clutch and adjustable clutch cable. The entire engine compartment has been smoothed and filled. After this was done, it was all covered with hand laid carbon fiber for a truly amazing look. People are amazed at how nice it looks at shows. Always wins best engine compartment. About $10,000 spent under the hood and it shows.
Exhaust: Ceramic coated throughout. Long tube headers with high flow cats, X-pipe and Flowmaster 40 series mufflers. This car does have a flamethrower system on it. The fuel supply for it is tied in at the fuel pump and is fed into the exhaust by jet nozzles for the fuel source. Its controlled by a button on the shifter and armed with switches in what was the ashtray. The jets are a little too much for it right now so I haven't used it much. This function is definitely a show stopper!! The coils and system itself are hidden under the subwoofer enclosure. Every car should have this!
Wheels and Tires: The wheels are 20" Diamo all around. Staggered of course with 10" in the rear and 8.5" in the front. 95% tread on tires. Falken with 245/30/20 in front with 285/30/20 in the rears. Rides great with the low profile tires and the help of the air ride. The wheels have been powder coated matte black and the lips wrapped with 3M dry look carbon fiber. No curb checks or any kind of damage on them what so ever.
I know I'm missing a few things but this is the major stuff. Lots of cool details all over this thing. I put a lot of time and money in this car. Equal amounts of both. Almost $55,000 to be honest. Its crazy, I know but it adds up quick. Just time to let it go. This as close as it gets to a new fox body. I assure you that you will be happy with it.
