1966 Ford Mustang Pony Interior
1966 Mustang Convertible 289 C code V8 Automatic trans Pony interior, Power Steering and Power Top. This Mustang was built to be a great driver and be reliable. It is turnkey when cold just pump the pedal and she fires right up on high idle just as it should, the choke kicks off when it is supposed to, once warm it runs as it should. This Stang is not just a nice paint job with all the 20 to 30 year old mechanicals painted to look new. The new or rebuilt list of parts is extensive. The pic of the gauges is at idle (550 to 600rpm) after a 80 mile cruise.
A complete rotisserie restoration was done with the body and chrome completed 3 years ago. All the mechanicals, top and interior were completed within the last few months, the car has about 200 miles since resto.
This Stang turns heads and is a stunning combination of Silver Blue with a Blue and White Pony interior and White top which replaces the original sauterne green / green and white pony interior. This includes a new Dash Pad, Door Panels, seat covers, seat buns, Pony seat belts, carpet, floor mats, underlayment, window handles, mirror, dash chrome and sill plates.,
The Mustang is straight. The paint is high end driver quality and will look right at home at a show, cruise night or anywhere else. Under the Hood is show clean and detailed with all Repro hoses, cables and wires. The undercarriage is also clean and detailed. Paint does have a few chips and small scratch and a small blemish on the hood (it doesn’t show up in pics)
Now powered by a fresh 1991 Mustang GT roller cam engine with a 1966 factory 4V intake and a Autolite 600 CFM carb, stock 1966 exhaust manifolds flowing thru a new true dual exhaust a new oil pan and the stock 66 timing chain cover with a new mechanical fuel pump. The Carb, alternator, distributor and starter are freshly rebuilt. The 5.0 has a nice advantage of more power and no worries about adding zink to the oil or fuel additives. The radiator, heater core, thermostat, sending unit, water pump, Marti correct hoses, Marti correct battery cables and battery are new. Other new parts include the fuel tank, fuel sending unit and fuel lines.
The transmission was professionally rebuilt and has a new Pro Torque converter, TCI Flex plate and cooling lines. The driveshaft has new universal joints front and rear. (NO the car does not bang in and out of gear even at high idle)
The 8” rear was dissembled and checked to make sure all was good and new grease seals were installed.
Suspension: New: upper / lower control arms, spring saddles, spring insulators, Idler arm, strut rod bushings, rear spring bushings, KYB gas shocks, 1” sway bar, power steering hoses.
Tires: Ford 14” mag 500 wheels with new 215 60 14 tires.
Brakes: Drum brakes all components listed are new brake drums, wheel cylinders, linings, brake spring hardware, lines, hoses, wheel bearings, dual master cylinder and rear emergency brake cables.
The Mustang is being sold in as is as seen condition with no warranty implied or given. Buyer is responsible for shipping / transport of vehicle. The car is listed else ware and I reserve the right to end the auction early. I require a $1,000.00 deposit within 48 hours of auction end.
