1972 Ford Mustang Mach 1

Up for auction is a very rare 1972 Ford Mustang Mach 1 351 H.O. car with 66K original miles. This mustang is 1 of only 336 High Output cars produced in 1972, and was the baby boss 351, since HP dropped in 72'. It is a true R code car, most likely the only one for sale in the country right now. It has a very solid body, very little rust on top, and some in the floors which I have photographed. It IS missing the original carb, distributor, and 4-speed trans (it was converted to an automatic unfortunately). It does have the desirable "4" heads, and the engine code is also correct: D2AE-CA and there is a photo of this below. I do have a standard Marti report so you can see how the car was ordered. This car has been sitting for 15 years and could use a tune up to be a daily driver (fluid change, carb tune, brake work, etc...) the stuff you would want to do to a car after it's been sitting that long. It does run and drive, and it actually moves pretty well. It has a strong idle, does fall flat when you stomp it, but does clear its self out. The brakes do work, however I would suggest reviewing condition and possibly replacing them. The valve covers and air cleaner are new. The floors have some rust which I have photographed, they aren't too bad, and actual the torque boxes and rockers look pretty good. The 1/4's have both had partial replacements which can be seen in the trunk. The doors are original and shut nice. the bottoms of the doors are pretty good, a little crust in the surface which you can see in my photos. The car has a fair amount of scratches/chips, most of which are brush touched; I tried to photograph them to the best of my ability because there are quite a few. The interior is original and in decent shape. The headliner is nice, sail panels need to be replaced. The carpet needs to be replaced. The bottom of the driver seat needs to be replaced. The steering wheel has a crack in it. The dash pad in is good shape. The fold down seat is in good condition and works like it should. As I mention this is car is a driver/restoration car, not a show car, not an AACA show winner. Yes it leaks, no I will not warranty it, no I will not let your mechanic run through the car and expect me to pay for every little issue after you purchase it. You have plenty of time to have the car inspected and reviewed pre purchase. I encourage and will make myself available for inspection whenever you would like.
