Description:

1966 Ford F-100

A rust free Arizona truck I acquired from the original owners son. The truck had sat for quite some time but it did eventually become my weekend ride. I have admirations for this model truck, mid 60’s F100’s were part of a fleet of trucks we had available to us for our construction business. Later in life I started to collect the 1965 & 66 F100’s to give them another life on the road. The way Ford had intended them to be, long lasting trucks.

This was my 2n, 66 F100 I repaired alongside my 1st, 66F100 (automatic I have in reserve for wife). I have been using this truck a little over 2 years at least once a week. I love this truck; the ride is exceptional for the age & it rides & tracks nice like a new-old Ford truck. No air conditioning but aftermarket units are available.

I’ve been razzed for brush painting it but my wallet wasn’t full enough for a conventional paint job. It has dings from being a work truck but for me the mechanics has more meaning than a perfect paint job, at least it’s oil based paint.

The original FE 352 engine was locked up when I got it & too costly to repair so I swapped it out for a 1981, 302 (5.0), cold compression test: ~ 145# but even. Has plenty of power & does not burn or use oil. Temperature stays @180.

New: Radiator & hoses, motor mounts, exhaust, voltage regulator, fuel pump, rebuilt autoline2100 carburetor & fuel sending unit. Shocks replaced front & rear, All 6 twin I beam rubber bushings, Note: King Pins have little wear, complete clutch assy. & brakes have been replaced to include flex lines, wheel cylinders & master cylinder & emergency brake cables. New windshield & seal, rear window & wheel seals replaced, head liner replaced w/PVC White. New tires in 2014, little wear, 225x75x15 w/stock wheels. Differential 3.25 ratio & axles are straight w/new bearings & seals. Seat replaced w/ 1993 f150 & new carpet.Bed has Century Topper & bed floor is carpeted. Wiring repaired & replaced as necessary. Note: Horn button not factory, location right side steering column. Steering Center Link has been replaced.

Note: Air horn on top of cab is in-op. In-line fuel filter needs to be replaced. The carrier bearing or center bearing is good but the rubber surround is dried & cracked will need to be replaced.
