1937 Ford Other Pickups

Hot rodding is about craftsmanship as much as anything, and this slick 1937 Ford phantom pickup not only has a great look but is also loaded with details that will make people line up for a closer look. LS1 V8 power, a state-of-the-art interior, and a few surprises underneath make it a show-stopper than can still haul cross-country with ease.By now you're familiar with dream-like creations that are possible with modern fiberglass technology, and this phantom '37 Ford pickup is a vehicle that never really existed but could have. Using the beautiful art-deco nose of the passenger car and grafting on a well-proportioned bed, it becomes the best-looking truck Ford didn't build. Finished in burgundy over champagne, it definitely has a modern look that gets attention. Fit and finish are impressive and with shaved door handles, hidden hinges, and a minimum of trim, so the bodywork has to speak for itself. Period-proper details include the running boards and peaked fenders, not to mention those gorgeous teardrop-shaped headlights that define the 1937-38 Fords. The dramatically-shaped bed isn't exactly practical but have a look inside and you'll find one of those trick details I was talking about: a faux "suitcase" that houses the Air Ride suspension components. Cool, right? The stunning tri-tone interior has OEM levels of fit and finish and a trick design that fits well with the phantom Ford's personality. Low-back buckets don't obscure the very cool oval rear window and custom door panels echo the shape of the side windows and reveal the reinforcements inside the door for a touch of industrial tech. The dash wraps around and blends into the custom center console and extends into the window moldings, creating a cockpit that puts all the controls at your fingertips. The leather-wrapped wheel is an elegant piece that warms up the driver's compartment, and everything you'd imagine is included, like A/C, power windows, and a tilt steering column. Pretty gauges from Classic Instruments are simple and clean and there's a powerful AM/FM/CD stereo system with speakers throughout the interior that are designed to be heard but not seen. This is one pro-built rod that looks amazing but remains fully functional and ready to cruise in comfort. For power, there's a fresh 5.7 liter LS1 V8 with only 506 shakedown miles. Retaining all the factory functionality of fuel injection, it's remarkably compact and so sleek that you don't even see the wiring and plumbing that make it go. Neatly finished with a polished intake and custom painted coil covers, the engine is compact with a serpentine belt drive system to pull the accessories in tight to the block. Service access is still quite good and the hardware is high-quality stuff so you can hit the road without a worry. A 4-speed automatic transmission spins a custom Ford 9-inch rear that's suspended on trailing arms and air shocks for an adjustable ride. The fabricated chassis was painted to match the champagne portions of the body and that includes everything from the A-arms on the coil-over front suspension to the custom rack-and-pinion steering system to the rear axle housing itself. The exhaust has been fully polished so it sparkles like chrome and there's a vented and cross-drilled brake rotor at all four corners. Stunning Billet Specilties wheels with staggered sizes to fill the wheel wells give it the perfect rake and offer a modern take on a traditional look. This stunning creation will stop traffic everywhere it goes, but is equally happy to run with it, too. For those of you who like being the center of attention, this is a tough act to follow. Call today!
