1973 Ford Ranchero 500

This 1973 Ford Ranchero has been extensively refurbished with $14,500 worth of recent receipts over the past 18 months.
Car sat in an Idaho barn for 20 years after the husband passed away. I believe the car has turned over once and has 132,000 miles
Very straight Idaho car. It has been repainted it's original factory gold metallic paint and has a new black vinyl top (like original). This is the original 351 Cleveland 2V engine (not rebuilt). The two barrel Holley carb and factory manifold were replaced with a 1406 electric choke Edelbrock 4 barrel carb and aluminum Edelbrock manifold. It runs and starts excellent (no smoke). The alternator is new, the distributor is new and the points were replaced with the Pertronix Flamethrower electronic ignition. The stock coil was replaced with an Accel high output coil. The Interstate battery is new. Spark plugs and wires are new. It has new chrome valve covers with new gaskets, new pan gasket, new Summit Racing air cleaner.
Excellent performance. Very peppy compared to the stock original two barrel set up.
The transmission has been fully serviced and shifts well. I'm told it is a 3 speed FMX automatic transmission.
The interior has a new dash, new visors, new headliner, new carpet and looks and smells new. A Pioneer AM-FM-CD-Bluetooth stereo was installed with 4 speakers. Sounds super!
All four shocks are new and much of the dual exhaust system is new. Has a nice mellow sound.
The moldings and emblems were shaved from the sides and front for a more modern streamlined look, but I will provide all the emblems for the new buyer. They are in excellent condition. See pic
The body had small areas of rust around the rear fenders and at the bottom of the rockers. The rusty metal was cut out and replaced with new steel.
The bed is black Rhino lined, so it can actually be used to haul things. The bedliner wraps around the entire rear window. See pics
The original A/C unit works and is charged, but is noisy (clutch bearing), so I removed the belt. It it drives and handles very well. Brakes were in good condition when inspected.
Has Pirelli 15" radial tires and aftermarket alloy rims installed on the car. Narrower tires in front and wider at rear. Also comes with the original set of 4 stock wheels, hubcaps and beauty rings with new Kumho Radial tires (14') and like new Michelin radial spare. Tinted glass is good, chrome is good (no pitting).
It's a sharp car inside and out. April 2017 NADA guides price report shows $33,755 as High Retail (for a fully restored show car). It shows a value of $19,770 as Average Retail for the 500 model including adds for the 351C and factory air. According to the NADA condition description this is Ranchero is closer in condition to High Retail. It is not a 20 footer, as they describe. Hoping to sell near average retail price.
This would be an excellent daily driver car or take it to the local car shows on weekends.
Collector, classic and muscle cars are steadily going up each year due to demand and limited supply. The return has been much better than any savings account I can find.
This is sometimes called 'a gentleman's pickup' and in Australia they call it a 'Ute'. Frame and suspension are the same as the Ford Torino and it drives like a good touring car. Smooth.
