Description:

1967 Ford Mustang

We got this 428 Cobrajet engine from a cache of several other Ford items. This engine had been lightly used its whole life. Under 50,000 miles on this engine and was used in a Sunday driver vehicle driven only sparingly. The car was too rusted to save but the engine was still in nice shape.
January 4, 1968 production date (8A4)..makes this engine one of the earliest 428CJ ever produced!
As you can see it still has modest surface rust on it. Complete from Carburetor to oil pan but may have a small accessory needing replacing. Absolutely NO cracks. NO rust-throughs. The engine turns over easy by hand and will start right up with some carb rebuild work and basic fluid maintenance. See a video of this item

Through the years the heads were changed out to 390 heads and the intake was changed out to a 390 intake. The engine will come with an extra 428 Cobrajet intake with this engine. Correct 1U crank...and 1968 Fomoco 12127 distributor
If you look at the Mustang-Tek attachment I included for this unit, youll see its date correct vehicles. It is one of the ONLY Cobrajet DATE CORRECT blocks that can be used in the build of the 1968 Shelby GT500, or the rare 1968 1/2 Cobrajet Mustang. While this block was probably not built for use in those cars, it would be DDATE CORRECT for them. The engine can be used in any Ford Cobrajet car through to 1970 .....but the unique DATE/YEAR makes this engine more valuable that most others in date value.
The components in this engine are original Cobrajet. No knocks or smoke in the car it was in. When we unloaded it and spun the crank some fresh green coolant actually came out of the hoses It comes with an air filter cover with partial snorkel. Dont spend $17,000, $14000 or even over $10000 for other standard Cobrajet engines on EBAY. This is priced to sell. Any questions call 850-two4two-3575
