Ford Motor Company debuted the first Mustang at the New York World's Fair on April 17th, 1964.Sales exploded, exceeding all expectations, and within the first 18 months more than one million Mustangs had been sold.Though the '64 1/2 Mustangs were virtually identical to the '65 and '66 versions, there were some differences:Most notable was the initial '64 1/2 V8 engine, which boasted 260 Cubic Inches. The later '65 and '66 models offeredonly a 289 CI version; The '64 1/2 Mustangs were manufactured with generators... the later Mustangs all had alternators.
The rarity of the initial '64 1/2 Mustangs, which were manufactured for fewer than five months, have made them the first choice of collectorsfor more than fifty years. In fact, the entire first design (64-65- 66) Mustangs remain not only the most popular, but also widely considered the most beautifully proportioned. If you've always longed for that original first Mustang convertible, one that is finished in the most desirable colorcombination and with the most desirable options, you've found it. In fact, you've not only found it, you've found one with 20,483 documented miles. The documentation is on theFlorida Actual Mileage Title (Photo Below).
This beautiful example is done in striking Raven Black with all vinyl Red Bucket Seats, door panels & carpet and a nearly new White Convertible Top. The convertible boot is black.
In terms of options, this one has it all:
Power Steering,
Power Convertible Top,
AM Push Button Radio
Cruise-O-Matic 3-Speed Automatic Transmission
Bucket Seats
Sport Console
Steel Belted White Wall Tires
Steel belted radial spare tire
Wire Hubcaps with Spinners (Original and rare)
Front Safety belts (black)
Air Conditioning
Floor Mats
Lets talk a little about the air-conditioning we just had installed in this car.
Every component is brand new and covered by a warranty by the manufacturer.
Forty two years ago I heard about a small shop in Hialeah that was installing AC systemsin vintage cars.
I took a 55 Chevy there and had the owner/operator install AC in my 55 Chevy Bel Airconvertible. It worked fabulous!
Today, 42 years later and with more than 100 employees,Eagle AC is still in business...but instead of a small 1000 sq. ft. shop they have over 100,000sq. ft and the Son of the original owner runs the operation. Over the course of the past42 years I have lost count of how many cars we have had auto air-conditioning installed, but I knowit is more than 1000 cars.
In 1964 1/2 you could have had the delivering Ford dealer install a small AC unit for about $450-$500under the dash. At best it worked just fair.
This AC system works so good that even on the hottestof days after 5 minutes you will have to lower the fan blower speed. It blowsICE COLD.
Speaking of fans, included with the system is an additional fan (electric) that comes on automatically in front of the engineto keep your car running nice and cool when the AC system is turned on, even in heavy traffic.
FYI if you look carefully, you will see that the radio antenna is slightly bent. Sincethese photos were taken, we replaced the antenna with the correct original type...and yes...the radio plays great!
Everything works....the lights....turn signals....horn....wipers....radio...power top, ect.
This is a turn key car. It will arrive with a full tank of gas and ready to enjoy. I would nothesitate to drive this car anydistance...any time...but not in bad weather..it's toonice to subject to snow and winter weather.
The previous owner of this Mustang took great pains to restore the car to its original splendor. In addition to refinishing the car in gorgeous base coat, clear coat paint, he also put in a brand new interior, featuring new all vinyl upholstery, new door panels, new red carpe, classy embroidered Mustang Floor Mats, brand new dash pad and new seat belts.

Mechanically, this Mustang drives superbly. It's silky smooth (with a nice V8 rumble) and the 3-Speed Cruise-O-Matic transmission shifts as new. The 260 V8 engine and theCruise-O-Matic Transmission have both been professionally rebuilt. You'll also find a new gas tank and five nearlynew Steel Belted Radial Tires. Under the hood you'll find a fully detailed and show ready engine compartment and in the rear a stunning, correctly detailed trunk compartment.

Sound good so far? Just wait. Now I'd like you to look very closely at the close-up photos of the sides of this Mustang: If you know cars, you know black is the most unforgiving color. If there are flaws in a car's body, Black with show them. The sides of this Mustang are absolutely LASER STRAIGHT. I'm talking fenders, quarter panels and door skins. All, very simply 'as straight as an arrow.' You won't find a straighter Mustang anywhere!

I've posted close to 90 large format photos of this car. Though the photos tell the story, I urge you to either come and see this car foryourself or have someone look at it for you.
