Description:

1966 Ford Galaxie

1966 Ford Galaxie 500 2 Door Hardtop. All original, matching numbers vehicle in spectacular condition. This car is a perfect fit for the purest that appreciate the originality of a vehicle. There are not many of these remaining and many that do exist have been completely modified. This Galaxie is fine working order. It looks amazing and drives well. The photos show the car with different tires and wheel package, but the original wheels are in storage and go with the vehicle. The car has been registered with the 1966 FORD FULL-SIZE REGISTRY as number 6021. The model is the Galaxie 500 2-door hardtop (198,532 produced). It was FORD number 163664, built in Chicago, Illinois assembly plant during the 1966 model year. The first VIN was 100001. As built, the engine was a 289-2V Challenger V-8(200hp@4400rpm 282 ft-lbs@2400rpm, 9.3:1 compression ratio), backed by the FX cruise-O-matic 3-speed automatic transmission with column shift, and driving through a 3.00:1 non-locking differential. It was finished in Ivy Green exterior color, and interior trim was a bench seat with parchment "Venetian" pattern. It had a scheduled build date of June 16, 1966 and order was processed through the St. Louis, Missouri district sales office, which covered southern Illinois and eastern Missouri. Everything matches the VIN codes. Also included are several documentations from the original purchase. Owner's card, original keys and extra set that are not original, owner's manual, identification stamp from the manufacturer, Wareco service stamp booklet, and even two road maps from the era.

The biggest concern for anyone when dealing with vintage vehicles is rust. I have searched high and low and simply can not find any rust. The floor pans and trunk both look to be in great shape. The chrome is in great condition. The interior is absolutely spectacular. The paint does have some pits, dings, and areas that the paint is thinned by buffing. But overall, the car is in outstanding condition.

I'm a car dealer, and the car was a trade-in on a Camaro. The owner has kept the Galaxie in a garage and on occasion would take it to car shows and drive it on weekends. He has done an incredible job of taking nice care of the car. I appreciate the history behind cars like this and would love to see someone that would enjoy the car. I am not a dealer fishing for a ridiculous price, but would like to sell it for a fair price for both the buyer and seller. I have had the car appraised and set the reserve below appraised value. I have added several pictures. If there is a particular picture that I have not provided, please let me know. I will certainly try to send additional photos. Good luck to everyone.
