It's time to start singing Dream Weaver because this car is a throwback to the burgeoning days when Ford started bringing cool, quick cars back to Detroit! It began in 1983 with the 4 cylinder, 2.3L Turbo Coupe, which was a nice little runner at 142hp, but the Thunderbird Super Coupe, or "Thunderclucker" or "Superchicken," as they were referred to back in the day, took it to the next level. These cars were true luxury beasts with an optional short throw, M5R2 5-speed manual that could stand up to the Mustang GT! A supercharged, intercooled, 6-cylinder, 5-speed in a luxury, 2 door coupe with 210hp? That's right and this one is highly collectible for two important reasons... it only has 18K original miles (feel free to check a Carfax or Autocheck report) and it's the very first year of this generation. In addition, this Super Coupe has all the original paint, interior and a beautiful undercarriage. It also starts, stops, shifts and handles like a brand new Super Coupe! Shehas air, tilt, cruise, the JBL system (unfortunately replaced by a Kenwood aftermarket stereo), lumbar support and power everything including windows, mirrors, locks and seats. I just had the air recharged and all four brakes replaced. In order to bring it up to trailer queen collectible status, the car does have two deep scratches on the door and rear quarter panel, the dash has two cracks and the top back seat has two rips at the seams that need to be stitched. Also, I the power mirrors don't move and the driver window makes noise, but won't go down. That's it and that's everything! Personally, I do not have the time or resources to fix these minor problems and it's the very reason why I'm letting her go with no reserve for such a low price. I'm not a dealer who is going to gouge you with documentation, processing and transfer fees, just a Ford lover from Ford country (Dearborn, the birthplace of Henry Ford himself) who loves Fords! Feel free to check my perfect eBay profile or my other eBay name under "smileylink," as I have over 2,400 all positive comments over the course of decades of selling items on eBay.
Please, no low balls offers, as this is the absolute lowest I'll sell the car at no reserve and I honestly won't take a penny less. These cars continue to move up in price and are right behind the Trans Am and Grand National, and this particular Super Coupe is a great candidate for collectibility. Come see it for yourself by calling me (Tom) at 313-805-4265 or Peder at 313-729-3671 and we'll set up a time for you to go back in time in a timely manner. Or, feel free to have the car inspected, as we want to ensure that you're satisfied with the purchase. We're building a fine reputation and are retired car lovers who have been featured on Mlive.com, a local online news column. Feel free to look up our article entitled, "Specializing in Strange."
Please keep in mind that this is a no reserve auction and your bid is a legally binding agreement to purchase the vehicle. If you make a bid, I'll assume that you've already kicked the tires, asked the significant other and have funds available. Also, ask any and all questions before making a bid, as I want to make sure you know everything you need to before making your decision.Feel free to have the car inspected or come by to take it for a test drive. I do reserve the right to end the auction early, as the car is for sale locally. The buyer will be responsible for having the car shipped, but I'll be happy to pick you up at Detroit Metropolitan Airport if you want to fly in and drive her home. A nonrefundable $500 deposit will be due via Paypal within 24 hours of the auction end and full payment in the form ofclearedcertified check, Paypal or cash in person by 3 days with no exceptions.
Lastly, don't worry about us sticking you with extra processing fees, paperwork costs and other bloated additions to the cost of the Super Coupe. We have a clean, signed title and the price you bid will be the price you pay. If you have a negative feedback rating or less than 10 eBay transactions, please contact me before you bid. Also, if you're from out of the country, contact me before you bid, as the only item I've shipped overseas was a Studebaker motor and that was a hassle! Thank you!
