1990 Ford Mustang Convertible1990 Ford Mustang GT Convertible. This is of the Fox body Mustang era and very rare to find in this condition. 1990 was the 25th Anniversary of the Mustang...You will have a hard time finding a nicer one. This is an original Arizona car with no rust!
The car is currently in Colorado. I bought it from my Uncle last fall and brought it to Colorado to finish the build.
I am going to attempt to remember EVERYTHING that's been done to this car.
To start off, it's got a FRESH BluePrint 390HP (370TQ) 306CI Crate motor featuring the following specifications:
In addition to the crate motor, many other engine components were replaced. Completely new A/C system to include the Compressor, Receiver/Dryer, hoses and Condenser. Brand new Ford Racing 39lb/hr injectors, new computer, BAMA performance chip with 4 settings (stock, street, performance and race). Brand new BBK Fuel Pump, Canton Aluminum Valve Covers, New Harmonic Balancer, Valeo performance clutch, pressure plate, shift fork, T/O bearing, (Ford RACING Billet SFI rated) Flywheel and clutch cable are all new. Brand new OEM Ford Speedometer cable. This is a Factory5 Speed Car. The transmission was rebuilt and shifts perfectly.
I replaced every electronic component on the engine. MSD Pro-Billet Distributor. MSD Coil, MAF, MAP, TPS, IAC, Bosch O2 Sensors, NGK Iridium Spark Plugs...
BBK Cold Air Induction System. BBK 70mm Throttle Body, BBK Adjustable Fuel Pressure Regulator (with gauge), New Vacuum Purge Solenoid, Water Pump, Serpentine Belt, Belt Tensioner, Brand New Aluminum Radiator, all new Silicone heater and radiator hoses.
Pypes 2.5" Stainless Steel X-Pipe, Flowmaster Cat-back 40 Series Dual Exhaust.
BBK Performance Rear Upper and Lower Control Arms, Alloy USA 5 lug conversion kit (front and rear), new rotors, wheel bearings, brake pads, shoes, wheel cylinders, hardware kit, drums, brand new rear axles, axle bearings, and axle seals. QA1 Adjustable Aluminum Rear Shocks (with 18 different settings for compression and rebound).
You'll see the in pictures, I have a brand new, freshly painted Stalker Front Bumper (PN 3334) that I have yet to install, I also purchased and painted the door molding (the pieces between the front tires and the door (both left and right) are on back order). I have also purchased a very clean used factory Ford RF headlight (the current headlight is letting a small amount of moisture in)
Misc items replaced in the finishing stages: Replaced missing screws and covers on the arm rests, ash tray receptacle, replaced left rear power window motor and OEM Drivers and passenger power window control switches, Right Side Convertible top Latch.
I installed a brand new MOPAR Beep-Beep Roadrunner Horn. It really fits with the car..(it is a OEM re-production horn)
Brand new Kenwood KDCX998 AM/FM/CD/Bluetooth compatible and USB Stereo. 2 New Focal Door Speakers (6 speaker system).
Bullitt 17x9 Black Wheels with Mickey Thompson Street Comp 245/45/17's tires front, Mickey Thompson Street Comp 245/40/17's tires rear. These tires fit extremely well.
The convertible top was replaced when my uncle was restoring the car and has only been put down twice. The interior has also been re-upholstered and looks fantastic.
The car is immaculate, handles well and is fun to drive. I have already done the first oil change. My Uncle had this car for 16-17 years, it has been garage kept and has never been in the snow in Colorado. I spent all of last winter building and finishing the car.
Anyone who has built a car of this magnitude would understand the amount of time and labor that have been invested in it. I will install the new nose piece with the replacement headlight upon sale of the car. I have over $16,000 in this build (not counting any labor).
