Description:

1972 Ford Bronco

This sale is for a 1972 Ford Bronco - Sport model. I purchased this Bronco (two years ago) from a younger family member of the original owner - now in his 80's.It was primarily usedfor hunting in western Nebraska. He was in the Air Force and worked on it in the hobby shop. I must say, he added about every trick upgrade of the day! Overall this Early Bronco is as solid as they come - did not see severe abuse!

REASON FOR SELLING: I am in my 70’s andhaving difficultyworking on my toys. The time has come to FINISH something, DOWNSIZE my collection and move on!

MILEAGE: 13,800 I assume it is 113K, but would not be surprised if it was original - not that it matters much.

SOME OF THE UPGRADES

351W Engine – Duraspark II ignition system – replaced with new

Front disk brakes – later EB donor

Power steering

Tilt Column

Lockers of some type (?)in both axles – not sure of gears – told it has 411’s?

Headlight upgrade – H4 HID

COLOR: Cinnamon and then he painted over parts of it with flat black.

Added roof rack, CB radio

The Bronco would run, sort of, when I bought it!

WHAT I FOUND and CHANGED: It had a single gas tank (rusted through – between skid plate), plumbed with 3/8th inch copper line, with (4) fuel filters in it. I removed the garbage, and replaced the lines and installed factory tanks and manual valve. These tanks were used, tested and clean. it now ran fine, but not to my liking!I have an old time engine builder friend that I called in for some professional help. It had a 2 barrel carb on it – not a good match for the engine.

The 351 has been built up (?), but we have no idea on the details, other than the CAM is not stock – mild – not radical. We changed the intake and carb to a Holley 4 barrel, and it now starts like it was EFI. When we pulled the intake the internals looked CLEAN and NEW.

This being said, I have not licensed and driven the bronco, other than around my local area.

RUST: Typical EB rust issues – leading edge of hood, bottom outside of tailgate - tailgate is very solid and straight otherwise.

Floor pans (solid -repaired, back in the day)

Rockers look to be repaired some time ago - not solid - need to be replaced if your goal is a SHOW TRUCK.

EXHAUST: Needs a new system – someone hung a couple of cherry bombs on it.

TIRES: 33x9.50x75 Tires look like new, but they are OLD – has a SPARE, but there is a gash in the sidewall – holds air.

TRANSPORT: While the bronco now runs and drives just fine, I DO NOT think it wise to drive it any long distance, as I have not done so, and the age of the tires would make me nervous.

I am sure I have missed some things - will answer any questions and post for all to read.
