1954 Ford Victoria 2 door hardtop

Hello everyone. Up for auction is one of the coolest period correct Customs to hit Ebay in a long time. We had this sold to someone that really wanted it,couldn't come up with the balance, so it's available once again. This is a multi award winning car that has been shown all over the western states. It's a crowd please, especially to those that are in to real Customs! History: I found this Vicky back in 1995 from the original owner! It was originally purchased in Los Angeles, was financed for 2 years, then paid off. It was then moved to a neighborhood in Buena Park, California - directly across the street from Knotts Berry Farm. I dropped by every 6 months for 13 years, until the owner finally sold it in 2008. When I purchased the car I was told that in the late 1960's/early 1970s, the original owner was a member of the Fabulous Fifties Ford club of California, and due to the fact that the car was so well preserved, it was used in a 1974 book titled "The Nifty Fifties Fords" by Ray Miller, with photographs by Glenn Embree. He still had that boo, and gave it to me. The lucky buyer of this Custom will receive the book free of charge. Decisions & Plans: Because of the cars history, and the fact that it was in such great original condition, it was a difficult decision to turn it in to a Custom. After giving it serious though, it was decided that I would make it a "period Custom" . By that, I mean everything on the car would be 1954 or earlier, and that the car would be an authentic representation of how Customs looked in the early 1950's. I wanted this '54 Vicky to look like someone bought the car new then took it directly to the Barris' shop, Ayalas, or Valley Customs. Build: The car was completely torn apart after it was acquired. Everything was customized, so much that there isn't one panel, one section, one area that was left stock for the exception of the roof. The car was not chopped because hardtops do not need to be chopped. They have a lower roofline than post model Customlines, and are very proportioned to the overall body. The grille and grille surround are all 1954 Ford, but highly customized. You'd have to carefully inspect a stock 1954 Ford to appreciate all of the hard extensive work that went in to creating this. Blues music star Jimmie Vaughan owns a world famous custom '54 Ford that was the initial influence for this car, but after doing a few months of customizin, certain things were changed to make this car unique. The entire grille was smoothed and sits inside the surround . A total of 4 parking/turn signal light housing were used to make a pair of completely round and solid units. Extra grille surround stainless trim was used to make one complete solid trim. The bumper guard indentations were smoothed, hood corners rounded, headlights frenched, and car has been nosed, decked, shaved, and smoothed. 1954 Packard taillights were incorporated in to the rear quarter sections, and frenched in. The rear bumper is also smoothed, and has custom cut out's with radiused lip so that the dual exhaust can neatly tuck through them. Being a California car, the body was in excellent rust free condition. Accessories: Firestone 6.70x15 bias ply wide white wall tires are mounted on the original powder coated steel wheels. A reproduction set of Cadillac "Sombrero" hubcaps finish everything off for that authentic early 1950's custom look. The car is finished in a mint green with white roof. The interior was professionally done in a vibrant jade green, white, and black. Headliner is white with green piping. Loop nylon jade green carpet is accented with white vinyl surround. Suspension: I am not in to the airbag craze. I don't see a purpose in it, feel that a vehicle does't look right laying it's fame on the ground, and aesthetically doesn't look proportioned. Because of that, I again went traditional and lowered this Vicky the way Customs were done in the 1950's. hey, if it worked back then, why wouldn't it work today? The rear leaf springs were de-arched, a few leafs were removed, the frame was "C-notched" and lowering blocks help get the tail end very low. Air shocks help raise or lower the car to the exact desired height. The front suspension has new coil springs that are cut, and highly customized towers and A-arms. Specially made heavy duty shocks were installed, as well as Granada dropped spindles and disc brakes. Its something you can't see, and helps that car stop safely. Drivetrain: The engine is the original Ford Y-block 239 engine. It was rebuilt and only has 5,000 miles on it. An old custom trick was done using an early 1960's higher spark distributor and high volume oil pump. The original owner of this Vicky went to a junk yard back in the late 1950', pulled a set of Thunderbird ram horn exhaust manifolds, and installed them on this Vicky. There's more power, plus it gives the car dual exhaust. Radiator was gone through, generator was rebuilt and converted to 12 volt, and the entire car was re-wired and converted to 12 volt. The transmission is a rebuilt 2 speed automatic. Rear end is the original unit, and was rebuilt with new U joints, gaskets, pinion shaft O-ring, and bearings. There you have it, folks. It is a stunningly beautiful car, and unfortunately I have to sell not only this car, but a very nice 1969 C10 Chevy Pickup truck which is also currently on Ebay. That being said, I might consider a partial trade plus cash. I am also selling the car locally so I reserve the right to end this at any time. Don't be shy. I am a friendly guy, and am available to talk any time day or evening. Potential buyers need not worry about shipping. I know of two auto transport companies that are professional, reliable, and reputable. Buyer pays for shipping and I will see to it that the car arrives in a safe and prompt manner. I will sell this anywhere in the world. Thanks and have a great day. Alex (909)-437-2068.
