1964 Ford Thunderbird Roadster

This auction is for a 1964 Ford Thunderbird Convertible project. The prior owner purchased this car when he lived in Pennsylvania and then moved to the New Hampshire area where he put it in a garage to disassemble the car and do a complete restoration. He passed away recently and his estate went up for sale. From what we were told, the car was in great running condition and complete when brought to New Hampshire. Was last on the road in 1991 and has been inside storage since then. When we received the car a lot of it had been taken apart and a lot of new items purchased. We assembled some of the front end so as to be able to put rollers on. We bolted the doors back o, put most of the interior back in and set the trunk lid and convertible top bows back in place. The front fenders and rocker panels had been stripped to bare metal so we prepped and painted them so they would not surface rust. This was a very nice car to start with . Has a very solid foundation and a nice straight body lines. The only rust issues that I see are the 2 front floor pans have some rust through ( could be repaired) but I have new pans for both sides. The rest of the under carriage is clean and rock solid. There is a small rust spot on the inner quarter panel drivers side about the size of a silver dollar. The passenger side in the same spot has a tiny pin hole size. The drivers front fender down low has a few pin holes. That is basically it. A beautiful body to work with. Has it's original 390 V- 8 with auto trans and complete dual exhaust system still intact. This was never removed. The motor turns freely and still has clean oil and antifreeze so should be no problem getting it up and running with little effort. I also have not found the keys yet as they may or may not be in the parts lot. The frosting on the cake is all the extras that are available to the winning bidder at a very reasonable price. You could get a portion of your money back just by selling the items you dont really need. This is what is available at an extra cost should you choose to purchase .(1)A convertible folding lid (flap) N.O.S. condition besides the one that is on the car, You hardly ever find these.(2) 4 brand new kelsey Hayes style like factory t bird wire wheels with t bird spinner centers in the boxes, made by Roadster USA(3) 4 brand new 215 75 R 15 general USA classic radial tires with the correct 1 1/2 inch white wall.(4) Another set of chrome valve covers new in the boxes,(5) A pair of rear quarters, one with Ford markings which is NOS ( A full rear quarter)and the other is a three piece application. ( car doesnt need them)(6) A new front header bow which car doesn't need I believe every thing is there but could be missing a few misc small trinkets. What is included is new bumper guards, new tail light housings and lenses, new backup light housings, new grill, factory am- fm radio completely reconditioned with face plate and knobs, assortment of new brake parts and shoes, reconditioned power booster, ( has new master cylinder) and many other parts that I have not had the chance to go through. There is a bunch of stainless trim, some of the used parts that were removed from the car and tagged in baggies with a lot of the nuts and bolts Has the rare fiberglass tonneau that makes the car a two seater. We bolted the bumpers grill and tail lights for easier shipment. The seats were leather and have also been redone. I wish I had the time to redo this car and bring it a little further along but we have been right out straight and really need the garage space. Here is your chance to get a real investment vehicle for what I feel is short money. Would make an excellent winter project and if you needed parts for another bird. I also have what is left of a 66 T-bird coupe it is a rolling body (no motor, tran, nose doors or interior) but still has disc brake front en, 9 inch ford rear en, beautiful front and rear tinted glass and a few other trinkets. Wicked cheap money if you buy the convertible. We also have a 1978 Corvette Indy Pace Car with 7 original miles listed in another auction. Sold on a Maine dealer bill of sale and proper transfer paper work. If you need a title in your state we will register the car and give you the current registration and proper transfer paper work so you can obtain a title. It will be $150 dollars extra for this service should you need it. We reserve the right to end the auction early in case of a local sale. We require a $500 dollar non refundable deposit at auctions end and balance to be paid within 3 days of auctions end. Update : Ebayers have been asking some specific questions about parts for the car. The parts that we said could be purchased will be offered to the winning bidder first. If they are not interested in them we will sell them. Also we have looked in a few more boxes and have found the insert for the hood plus and extra complete set up, new front suspension kit, 4 new shocks, some bushings and new carb kit. A new power steering pump reservoir (but cardoesn'tneed it), the wiper washer, 4 way flasher, convertible top switch and courtesy light panel that you see missing in the dash and a reconditioned clock. All this will be included with the sale. We did find another new rear back up light tail panel and a few other misc items that will beavailablewith the otheravailableparts. Thanks for your interest, Bob.
