1952 Ford F6 Dump truck - F1, F2
Farm fresh 1952 Ford F6. This truck is selling with NO RESERVE, so high bid will get truck, regardless of price.
This is a really great old truck, This was actually still in service on the farm until the last couple of years. The farmer had some health problems and retired, and that is when I rescued it. It had been sitting for a couple of years with out running, so we flushed out the old gas, and cleaned up the points, and with a couple cranks, she sprang to life! This truck absolutely runs like a sewing machine. It idles smooth, revs smooth, carries good oil pressure, and doesn't heat up. It shifts in and out of all gears just fine, and the bed goes up and down like a new one.
After saying all that, it sounds like you could hop in and ride off into the sunset, but not quite. It does need a few things as it is 64 years old. The main thing is the brakes. If you put brake fluid in the master cylinder, the brakes will pump up and work, but the master cylinder leaks, so it will need to be replaced or rebuilt. This truck will also need an ignition switch. It came without a key, and it appears someone had tried to start it with a screwdriver or something else besides a key. That should be a very simple fix. I just used a jumper wire from battery to coil to start, I also jumped across the ignition switch just to make sure the gauges work, and they do. The truck also needs a battery. I used a 12 volt battery to start it, but it is a 6 volt system, and obviously if you run it on 12 volts you will eventually burn up points, light bulbs, etc.. The tires all hold air, but are pretty weathered. The seat has a tear on the driver side, I left the John Deere floor-mat in there that the farmer was using, adds a little more character! This truck does not suffer from any major rust issues, but does have a couple of spots on the fenders up by the headlights. This truck does come with a clean, clear, State of Kansas title. The odometer shows 38K miles, and I honestly believe that is probably accurate, but have no way to verify. And if you are concerned about transporting this truck, I hauled it home on a 18ft car trailer with 6 bolt wheels, so it does haul easy. I will even remove the sideboards for free if you don't want to haul them. I'm flexible and easy to work with, I will help with loading or shipping arrangements, and truck can sit here awhile as long as it's paid for in a timely manner. I try to take good pictures and give a good description, but i'm sure there will be questions. Feel free to call or text Cort at 620-786-5172 with any questions. I do have 100% feedback, so bid with confidence. Thank you and Good luck.
