1971 Ford Mustang

All photos recent.
This is a multi-show award winning Mach 1. Less than 2000 miles on a comprehensive restoration completed in 2012. One of the absolute very best in existence.
Drivetrain: Thisfactory red Mach 1left theFord plantwith a Q code 351 Cleveland mated to the tough C6 automatic transmission. During the restoration the engine was replaced with an unleaded fuel performance 351/4bbl Windsor V8 with Holley carburation and Hooker headers, along with a modern MSD breakerless electronic ignition. Runs great on 91 octane unleadedpump gas. The original C6 was rebuilt as was the original Ford 9" 3.50 geared conventional rear end. The engine starts quickly and runs beautifully. This is a strong, smoothmotor making for a fast car. The moment you touch the gas the car responds. No hesitation or stumbling. The transmission shifts quickly and smoothly, with no bangs, clunks or jerky motion. The rear end is quiet as well with no clunks. This car drives like a new car - it can cruise at highway speeds steady and straight. No wandering, pulling, odd noise or vibration. Sounds awesome with the true dual exhaust.
Suspension/Steering/Brakes: All new front and rear, including springs, shocks, upper and lower control arms, ball joints, bushings, brakes, etc. Car rides and handles exactly as designed. Power steering makes it a pleasure to drive, and the power front disk brakes allow this Mach to stop quickly and straight. No pulling left or right, no odd noise or vibration. Very smooth.
Paint/Body: This rust-freecar was bare metal resprayed in a base coat/clear coat beautiful red finish. Thepaint isextremely smooth withno orange peel. Every area looks excellent, including under the hood, door jambs, underside, trunk, etc. The hood has the correct satin finish black paintand hood pins, as per factory.
Interior: The interior on this car isessentially 100% new.The following are all new:headliner, visors, visor hardware, seats (reupholstered in a better than factory quality), attractive stiched vinyl covers on the rear seat side panels (they came from Ford as just huge plastic pieces), dash pad, left and center dash boards, center console, door panels, steering wheel, scuff plates, door rubber, carpet, seat belts, etc. When you sit in this car its like sitting in a new 1971 Mach 1. It even smells new.
Wheels and Tires: Brand new (2015) 15" Magnum chrome wheels supporting new B.F. Goodrich radial T/A's. The wheels and tires have about 300 miles on them.
Radio: Retrosound classic AM/FM stereo. This radio looks like an old style band radio until you turn it on, at which point a digital readout appears. Excellent sound.
Other: Modern air conditioning system installed, headlight relay wiring installed to allow the car to handle the power drain of halogen headlights, new seatbelts installed.
Value: This Mach 1 was appraised in November, 2015, for $41,600 by Christopher Ingrassia, president of Mustang Restorations, Inc. of E. Dundee, IL. Haggerty currently insures the car for $42,000.
Here's Where I'm At: In light of the time of year, I am offering this car at a value well below all of those numbers. This will be an exceedingly good buy for someone who wants the best. No, I'm not going to give it away because I don't need to sell it, but this will be a great buy for the lucky high bidder. You won't lose money at my price.
So buy the car now, enter it in some shows, and go win some trophies, all with an excellent investment in a top quality muscle car!

Note there is a VIN typo. The VIN is 1F05Q221524. The first numeral "2" in the ad is incorrect. That would be a 1972 car. This is a very rare 1971 Q car.
