All of the above came from the same 95 Mustang Cobra donor car. Engine was rebuilt with new rings and bearings and a new F303 cam shaft. All four brake calipers were rebuilt, four new rotors, all new bearings. The rear end was shortened to fit the 65, with new axles and bearings. New leaf springs.
Front suspension is a new Fatman single a-frame independent coil-over struts with power rack and pinion. Shock towers were not removed. PowerInjection III electronic Fuel Injection. Can be tuned with your laptop. 17X8 wheels on front, 17X9 on rear, with P245/45R17 tires all around. Clutch and brake pedal set-up from Mustang Steve.
The above modifications were done in 2011. This was not a build to sell project. It was built to the owners specifications with the intentions of keeping it forever. No corners were cut, no expense spared.
The convertible we started with was a rust free six cylinder. Body and floor panels have not been replaced. It was painted candy apple red in 2001, and has been treated as a show car ever since. Always kept inside, never driven in the rain.
GT trim package with deluxe pony interior.
This car still looks original except for the wheels and tires. The interior is still original Mustang except for the new six pod instrument cluster.
No cutting and welding was involved in this resto-mod. It could all be put back to original.
This is a cruiser, not a dragster. It runs great, handles great. Dependable and economical.
