1966 Ford Galaxie 7 Litre
1966 Ford Galaxie 7 Litre
In the very early 1960s, Ford, General Motors and Chrysler discovered the Pony car – the formula being, a big block in a small car. 1966 Ford realized that there were many customers that wanted a powerful big block engine but didn’t want the confinement of the smaller sized cars that were called Muscle Cars. Ford came out with the new combination of a big block car in its largest sized body – this car was called the Galaxie 500 7 litre hard top. In 1966 and 1967, the 7 Litre was a separate model. It was the top-of-the-line Galaxie and makes a great presentation. It was one of the most desirable cars for acceleration and high-speed touring. The comfort that it offers is unbelievable and for such a large car it really does handle quite well.
The car in this ad is owned by a gentleman that is very fussy about his cars. The car in this eBay listing offers power steering, power brakes and power driver seat. This car also features a quick shift kit to the automatic transmission that makes it shift much faster upon hard acceleration. The car is also equipped with the very desirable factory air conditioning. The owner has not used the air conditioning so he is not sure if it is working or if it needs a charge. In 1966 Ford was still using many of the styling cues from Ford’s dream cars and concept cars on the Ford production cars. The 1966 Ford Galaxie 7 litre hardtop is just full of these styling cues as you can see both on the interior with the fabulous bucket seats and console and all the outside chrome trim. We absolutely love the Tahoe Turquoise. Yes, the color scheme is just perfect for this 1966 Ford Galaxie 7 litre.
