Description:

1929 Ford Model A

1929 FORD MODEL A HOTROD CUSTOM BUILD BY A LOCAL HOT ROD SHOP
THIS CAR IS UNBELIEVABLE AND CUSTOM FROM BOTTOM TO THE TOP.
SHE HAS WON SEVERAL SHOWS AND SOME OF THE MAJOR RECOGNITIONS ARE AS FOLLOWS.
1. 2012 WON THE NATIONAL STREET RODDER TOP 100 IN THE NATION BY STREET RODDER MAGAZINE.2. WON TRADITIONAL HOTROD AWARD AT THE GOOD GUYS SHOW IN CHARLOTTE, NC3. THIS IS MAJOR HERE WON BUILDERS CHOICE IN GOOD GUYS SHOW IN COLUMBUS, OHIO AT THE GOOD GUYS SHOW.4. WON BUILDERS CHOINCE AT GOOD GUYS IN CHARLOTTE NORTH CAROLINA GOOD GUYS SHOW AS WELL.5. WON ITS CLASS AT THE 2014 DETROIT AUTO RAMA6. FEATURED IN ROD AND CUSTOM MAGAZINE CENTERFOLD FOR FEBUARY 2013
I COULD END THE DISCUSSION HERE FOR ANY CAR GUY AND THEY WOULD UNDERSTAND JUST HOW PERFECT A CAR HAS TO BE DO BE GIVEN THESE TITLES.
CHASSIS:CHASSIS WAS BUILT USING 1 1/2X4 INCH RECTANGULAR TUBING AND GAVE THE TRADITIONAL HOT ROD TREATMENT WITH A SUPER BELL 4 INCH DROPPED FRONT AXLE. a PAIR OF 1946 FORD SPLIT WISHBONES LOCATES THE AXLE, WHILE A VEGA STEERING BOX KEEPS THE FENDERLESS SEDAN BETWEEN THE LINES. THE FRONT BRAKES ARE 1940 FORD UNITS, WHICH UTILIZE FINNED ALUMINUM DRUMS FROM A BUICK. rEAR BRAKES ARE STOCKERS FROM THE 66 FORD 8 INCH REAR END. COIL OVER SHOCKS AND 1940 FORD RADIUS RODS KEEP THE REAR END STABLE. aN INTERESTING FEATURE OF THIS CHASSIS IS THE FACT THAT IT WAS WELDED TO THE FLOOR STRUCTURE OF THE MODEL A BODY CREATING A UNIBODY STRUCTURE.
DRIVETRAIN:EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS ENGINE SCREAMS HOT ROD, EVEN THOUGH IT IS'NT COVERED IN SPEED PARTS. THE ENGINE IS A FAIRLY MILD MERCURY FLATHEAD COMING IN AT 276 CI WITH MOSTLY STOCK INTERNALS. JEFF BENNETT THE BUILDER OWNER OPERATOR OF WIDE OPEN CUSTOMS SENT THE PARTS TO MOUNTAINLAND MACHINE IN ROANOKE, VA WHERE THEY PREPPED FOR ASSEMBLY AN ISKY 400 JR. CAMSHAFT OPERATES THE VALVES, WHILE A HOLLEY 390 CFM FOUR BARREL CARBUERATOR SENDS A MIXTURE OF FUEL AND AIR INTO THE OFFENHAUSER INTAKE. JEFF BUILT THE HEADERS AS WELL AS THE 2 INCH EXHAUST SYSTEM SO YOU CAN GO LOUD OR CAP IT AND BE QUIETER. IT HAS A C4 AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION THAT BACKS THE FLATHEAD, THANKS TO SPEEDWAY MOTOR ADAPTER.
WHEELS AND TIRES:
THE MODEL A ROLLS ON A SEET OF E.T. DRAGMASTER WHEELS, SIZED AT 15X5 UP FRONT AND 15X7 OUT BACK. THE FIRESTONE BIAS-PLY TIRES CAME FROM COKER TIRE AND GIVE THE CAR A NICE RUBBER RAKE WITH 5.60-15 AND 8.2-15 SIZING.
BODY AND PAINT:
THANKS TO JEFFS EXPERTISE IN BODYWORK AND PAINT AT HIS SHOP WIDE OPEN CUSTOMS, THE NECESSARY REPAIRS DIDNT HINDER HIS ENTHUSIASM FOR THE BUILD. THE BODY WAS CHOPPED 3 INCHES AND FILLED THE ROOF WITH A RIBBED PANEL. HE THEN RAISED THE REAR WHEEL ARCHES AND SECTIONED THE GRILL SHELL TO MATCH THE AMOUNT HE CHANNELED THE BODY. JEFF STRAIGHTENED THE PANELS TO PERFECTION AND APPLIED A PPG CONCEPT MATERIALS IN A CUSTOM MIXED HUE THAT HE CALLS WIDE OPEN GREEN. AN OFF-WHITE FIREWALL ADDS NICE CONTRAST TO THE COLOR COMBINATION WHILE OFF WHITE PINSTRIPES, LAID DOWN BY DAVID "HIVOLTZ" RICHARDS, TIE IT ALL TOGETHER.
INTERIOR:
MIKE MOORE OF M&S UPHOLSTERY HANDLED THE STITCHWORK, USING BLACK VINYL AND GREEN CLOTH INSERTS FROM A 55 CHEVY SEAT COVER. ITS A VERY COOL DESIGN THAT IS CONSISENT WITH THE CARS TRADITIONAL STYLE, AND THE HIGHLY MODIFIED VAN SEAT LOOKS RIGHT AT HOME IN THE TIGHT CONFINES. THE DASH IS A CUSTOM CUT DOWN 53 FORD PIECE, AND JEFF EVEN USED THE 53 FORD STEERING COLUMN AND SHIFTER TO COMPLETE THE LOOK. AFTER CHOPPING THE GARNISH MOLDING, JEFF SENT THEM OFF FOR CHROME PLATING TO ENHANCE THE 50'S THEME. A HIDDEN KENWOOD STEREO PROVIDES TUNES WHILD YOU BLAST DOWN THE ROAD.
THE ROAD AND CUSTOM MAGAZINE THIS VEHICLE WAS FEATURED IN COMES WITH IT TO THE NEW BUYER. SHE IS A TRUE CUSTOM HOTROD THAT WILL TURN HEADS AT EVERY SHOW SHE ATTENDS AND GOES HEAD TO HEAD WITH ALL THE WELL KNOWN CUSTOM BUILDERS. I ENCOURAGE ALL PERSONS TO COME AND INSPECT THE VEHICLES WE LIST BUT DO TRY AND ACCURATELY DESCRIBE ALL CARS.
THERE IS A 1.5 INCH MINOR SCRATCH ABOVE DRIVER WINDOW ON THE ROOF WOULD POSSIBLY BUFF OUT. I BELIEVE ITS FROM A BIRD THAT I HIT. NO DENTS OR ANYTHING JUST A FINE SCRATCH THAT I TOOK A PHOTO OF BUT NOT SURE YOU CAN SEE IT IN PIC. PAINT IS BEAUTIFUL AND IT IS PAINTED THE SAME UNDERNEATH OF THE CAR AS IT IS ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE CAR. THIS IS A TURN KEY CAR STARTS EVERY TIME HAS NEVER LET ME DOWN. I WILL ADD A VIDEO OF THE CAR RUNNING TOMORROW ON MY FACEBOOK PAGE HATMANS STREETROD GARAGE. IF YOU LIKE MY PAGE PLEASE HIT THE LIKE BUTTON THANKS AGAIN.
