Up for auction is a nice example of a period aftermarket wood body on a 1926 Model T car chassis and running gear. The body was crafted by a custom cabinet maker who collects/restores/ fabricates wood truck bodies. It is an exact replica of a body available in the twenties. It is constructed of hard maple and stained with Min Wax Colonial Maple. The attention to detail is extraordinary. The truck is outfitted with a standard Ford head and Champion X plugs, a Stipe 250 camshaft, a straight through style NH carburetor restored by Russ Potter, a high volume intake manifold, coils restored by Ron Patterson, a Watts clutch, a Ruckstell two speed rear axel with standard ring and pinion gears, a modern core radiator made for a Model T and five 1926-27 wire wheels. The fifth wheel is a spare mounted under the bed. It also comes with a restored 1926 California license plate. The truck runs very well.

The vehicle is crank start only but Previous owner installed a new ring gear on the flywheel and a working ammeter on the dash if someone wants to install a starter and generator . The transmission cover and generator bracket have block off plates, as installed at the factory on crank start vehicles. The bed hardware and latching irons are mostly original. The chains and eye bolts are new. There are some water spots in the bed that do not detract from the appearance. The windshield is made of safety glass. The top section folds forward and is held in place by two chrome plated swing arms. The restored Climax water pump, while not necessary, provides continuous and uniform circulation. The horn operates off the magneto; the headlights and taillight off the battery. Every feature of the truck has been restored to a high standard. The engine was professionally rebuilt by David Daigh of Durham California
