Description:

1971 Ford Mustang

If you are a Mustang collector it won't get any better than this car: 1 of 1 Marti Report 3 documented owners from new - 1st owner was a Ford dealer in CA and this was his demo/he owned the car from 1971 until 2008. I purchased the car and restored it in 2008-2010. Current owner bought it from me and has done additional preservation and upgrade. NOTE: it was originally a red/4speed/air/white interior car. When I restored it I changed the color to black. Other than that - the car is as delivered. According to the Marti Report and the original owner it was the only 4 speed / air car delivered with this equipment package. I rebuilt the 429 when I restored the car along with all new suspension, soft parts, tires, wheels, brakes, ac system. New owner added roller cam to the engine and has maintained it in excellent condition and only lightly driven. All number matching drive train including: Distributor, starter, alternator, carb, transmission, engine, rev limiter, rear end - all major systems rebuilt or replaced. Tags in place for all parts and serial numbers where applicable. Detailed photos of restoration. Featured in Mustang Monthly. A package of all receipts for mechanical and paint work is included with the purchase along with Marti report and extensive photo record of restoration. Car has been debugged and is available for inspection prior to bid/sale in Houston, Texas. I'm selling for the current owner, but since I did the restoration I can answer any questions you might have; Curtis Burton 713 825 0383. Please do not hesitate to call. I realize the car is expensive, but having owned/bought and sold lots of Mustangs and Shelby's over the years this is a truly unique ownership opportunity - it is NOT your run of the mill used and abused Mach from the 70's. A number of interesting stories, excellent records as well as extensive photo library of restoration and a solid car with 100% original sheet metal to boot - in California until I bought it and brought it to Houston in 08. When we began the restoration - the rear axle still had remnants of the factory paper tags in place around the axle - that is just one indication of how original and unique this car is. I own a number of low mile 1-2 owner Shelbys and Mustangs and I can guarantee that this is one of the rarest, most original cars with documentation you will find. No surprises.
