Description:

1970 Ford Mustang

PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE LISTING BEFORE BIDDING OR ASKING QUESTIONS. No reserve auction. Early production real 70 mach 1 428 shaker car with 4 speed, traction lok with optional ratio, tachometer. Probably ordered as a drag or street racer due to the 428, four speed, trac-lok, tach and lack of disc brakes. No history on the car other than the Eminger invoice which shows the car was shipped to Jackson Motors in Newport, Washington-not far from its current location. Has the original build sheet that was under the carpet. Does not appear to have been modified for drag racing other than opening of the shifter hole. Original hood, engine and transmission are long gone and don't know where. Yellow on black are the car's original color. Body: Appears to have most of its original body panels. Accident damage to driver quarter. Rust in both quarters, wheelhouses, trunk floor and floorpans. Shifter opening has been cut up. Frame rails, engine compartment and torque boxes look solid. Driver side shock tower has star0F103230star stamped in it-the car is not a rebody or a spliced together car. Shock towers have the correct reinforcements for big block cars. Suspension: Looks like the original 9 inch with staggered shock plates. Can't tell if it is an N case, but appears to be the original 31 spline axle. Front suspension appears to be original with front drum brakes. Interior: Mostly complete as in the pictures.Comes with mostof a fold down rear seat. Car did not come with a tilt column, but a 70 Mustang tilt is included. Also comes with an original rear spoiler, though it did not originally come equipped with one. I don't believe the car came with a rev limiter as the dimples for the mounting holes are there, but never had bolt holes thru them-this was one of the first 3200 cars built. Engine and transmission. Bare C8OE-N CJ Heads date 8k30. Intake 428 CJ 8M9. Engine. 428 CJ block in good shape dated 9A7. Was rebuilt .030 over. Shortly after it was rebuilt it broke a piston skirt. No damage to the cylinders. You can still see some of the hone marks, partial VIN stamp 9-154451. Crank 428 CJ 1UB. Original 70 Mustang 428 Cobra Jet shaker. Can't read the dates the exhaust manifolds. No carb, distributor or smog system. Trans has the correct C8 case and D0 tailshaft with D0 hurst shifter mounting bracket. Trans has been completely rebuilt with all new internals. Rebuild cost was around $1000. Has the larger CJ input/output shafts with all new good quality gears, etc. Appears to have an original Hurst shifter with some of the rods. Correct big block bellhousing and flywheel. Comes with a power brake booster even though the car came with manual drum brakes. Have all the glass except front windshield. Have a good set of the correct deep dish hub caps. Have most or all of the wiring. No bumpers, rear valance, radiator, drive shaft, door panelsor large interior rear panels. Mileage is just over 61,000. The following NOS Ford parts are included:
