1968 Ford Mustang

Finished in Meadowlark Yellow over a black interior, this 1968 Ford Mustang Fastback has been a remarkably solid, Southern car since new. The Mustang was built on January 25th, 1968 for the Charlotte District. It was ultimately delivered and sold by the People's Motor Company, to a Mr. Fritz Brown, of Simpsonville, South Carolina. The original Owner Card bearing his name are still with the vehicle, as well as a very nicely preserved build sheet. The registration records of the first two owners are with the car, Mr. Brown having sold the car in the early 80's to a woman who owned it in South Carolina through the mid Nineties.

Being a solid Southern car, is was deserving of a restoration as the metal was in very good condition. The car is currently the recipient of a rotisserie restoration where the car was stripped down from top to bottom and put back into excellent condition once again. Beautiful detail work can be seen on the top side, undercarriage and in the engine compartment. The car sports the proper red oxide finish on the bottom side and correct black finish in the engine compartment. The interior was redone in the correct black vinyl and the car did receive GT wheels and fog lights as an addition during the restoration.

The drive train is the factory 289 V8 with the C6 Automatic transmission and 2.73 rear gears. The suspension was redone at the time of the restoration and the car rides and handles well for a car of this vintage. The BFG tires were just replaced at the beginning of this year and are in excellent condition. The car runs and drives well, and cools properly and since it is not loaded down with aftermarket parts, would make for a great car to drive to local shows.

For the Mustang enthusiast looking for a great Fastback that can be both driven and appreciated, this 1968 Mustang is a great option.
