Ford Roadster Pickup Street Rod

Price: - Item location: Emmett, Idaho, United States
Description:

1929 Ford Other Pickups Street Rod

This is a 30 year old street rod in good condition for a hot rod of this age. Engine fires right up and runs smoothly. Transmission shifts smoothly.
A peppy little fun car to drive, I have owned it for 10 years. Used it to run to town for errands, and display in local car shows(won outstanding pickup in the 2007 Weiser, Idaho car show.) The top can be removed for open air driving. The bed floorboards have been refinished and the gas tank professionally cleaned and coated inside and out. Good rubber on the tires.
I am the third or fourth owner and the following is what I know about this car:
FRAME: 1929 Ford Model A modified to accept coil suspension in the rear.
BODY: 1929 Ford Roadster Pickup with a fiberglass cab and fenders. Bed and hood are steel.
ENGINE: Circa 1984 Chevrolet 305 V8 with a Weber carburetor on an Edelbrock manifold. Chrome exhaust manifold covers over stock exhaust manifolds with dual glass pack mufflers. Chrome alternator, water pump and valve and air cleaner covers. It is unknown if there are any other modifications to this engine.
TRANSMISSION: Chevrolet 3-speed automatic with Hurst shifter.
REAR END: 1957 Chevrolet.
SUSPENSION: Ford dropped axle with traverse leaf spring and tube shocks in front. Coil springs and tube shocks in rear.
STEERING: Tilt steering wheel using what may be a Covair steering box with Ford drag link steering.
BRAKES: Hydraulic discs in front, 1957 Chevrolet drums in rear.
TOP: Custom "convertible" top which is removable for open air driving.
PAINT: Believed to be 1956 Chevrolet Nassau Blue.
KNOWN PROBLEM AREAS. I have decided to sell this vehicle as-is rather than spending the money to repair and/or replace these items. This allows the new owner to repair, replace, or upgrade as he/she might see fit for his/her own use. The asking price has been adjusted for these items.
1. Master brake cylinder leaks and needs to be rebuilt or replaced.
2. The electric radiator fan works fine normally, but tends to seize up and stop running in extreme hot weather (100+). There have been no engine cooling problems with the fan running.
3. Lower right radiator bracket is broken along the weld to the lower tank.
4. The radio cassette player does not work.
5. The rear vinyl window has clouded with age.
6. Minor tears on the edge of the bed cover.
7. Some paint chipping and cracking. The worst is below the rear license plate. The rest are small and scattered around the vehicle.
This pickup has been in storage for the past two years. During 8 years of driving, I have had no problems other than what is mentioned above. Do the repairs as you see fit and have a fun car to enjoy and make heads turn! My original plan was to rebuild and refurbish the pickup with upgrades and new paint, but my age has now precluded this. Contact me if you have any further questions. Cash or Bank Cashier Checks accepted only. Delivery by local pickup, or buyer arranged transportation.
