Description:

1930 Ford Model A

Up for bids is an original, matching engine number, 1930 Ford Model A Sport Coupe. This Model A is a licensed, running and driving car that spent its entire life in Northern California until 2013, when I bought it. The braking system has been completely rebuilt with new shoes, wedges, rollers, clevises, rods, pins bushings, etc. as needed. It stops extremely well. The front suspension was rebuilt with new king pins, bushings, new spring, shackles, steering arms w/new balls, tie rod ends, pitman arm and rebuilt drag link. The original, matching number engine, is equipped with a rare Winfield intake manifold with a rebuilt 1951 Ford carb. It has a new water pump and timing gear and custom side cover. The radiator has been re-cored and the gas tank professionally cleaned and sealed. While the engine runs, it seems weak and may need a rebuild at some point. The transmission shifts as it should with no unusual noises. All lights work and it has a new wiring harness and battery. All gauges work except the odometer. It is stuck at 79,999, so figure the actual mileage to be unknown. The car spent its life in California and as such, it has only one small spot of rust on the right rear lower quarter panel. There is no rust in the floors, doors, fenders or bodyexcept for the quarter panel. The top wood seems solid and sturdy. It does have it's share of minor bumps and bruises, however. Please look at the picturesclosely. Thechrome on the bumpers is very nice as is the grill shell. It has 1935 Ford 16 inch wheels and 1935 Ford horns. Extra parts included in the sale are 5 original 19 inch wheels, an original intake manifold and carb, 4 original shocks in need of rebuild, arms and links, windshield wiper motor, an old luggage rack and numerous other parts. I bought this car from the owner who purchased it in 1951, and drove it until 1963, when he put it in storage. If you are wondering about the lack of landau bars, I believe this Model A to be one of a few built by Ford without landau bars. I know of 2 other all original, never restored 1930 Sport Coupes that came from the factory without them. Further, there is no evidence of there ever beingmounting brackets on the inside of the car.

I have a clear, matching Maryland title in my name.

A $500.00 deposit is due within 48 hours of auction close, full payment with 7 days of auction close. The car and title will not be released until all funds clear my bank.
