1965 Ford F-250 Camper Special Custom Cab

This is a great find for true Ford F-Series Collectors. This Special Order F-250 Camper Special has lived about a good a life as any truck can. The original color was Rangoon Red, but it looks sharp in it's current Black and Silver paint scheme.

This is a good, solid, Southern California classic truck that has not been abused. Still sporting it's original Black and Gold California License Plates.

I've taken a good look at the underside, body panels and typical trouble spots. The only negative I have seen is what some would call 'typical' rust at the roof rail gutters on both sides. It doesn't really detract from the trucks good looks, because it's above most people's sight line. I've pointed it out to many people that didn't even see it when looking at the truck when I've had it out and about around town. The comments about it being 'mint' are somewhat common, so I quickly correct folks. It's not a show truck. It was bought with the intention of being a work truck. I thought about pulling my classic Mustangs around with it to shows, but my new truck is so much more comfortable, this truck doesn't get used at all. Better to see it go to another home where it'll be enjoyed.

No Trade offers please.

This truck has a good running 352 FE Big Block in it from the factory. Looks as though someone decided to add a cast iron 1968 4v intake manifold and 4v Holley carburetor at some point, along with a set of Hooker headers. It fires right up every time. Behind the big FE motor is a factory original NP (New Process) 4spd manual transmission and a big 9' rear end with 4.10 gears. As for original mileage, I don't know. Judging on looks alone, I would guess the heads were rebuilt at some time in the past, probably to add hardened valve seats, but that's just my guess. I believe the distributor was also replaced.

Good Clutch, Manual Brakes, Manual Steering... as all F-250's were. A nice Stereo/ CD player was added and mounted overhead in the truck. Door speakers were professionally installed, as was the amp and sub behind the seat. The stereo system rocks.

The interior was professionally painted to match the exterior of the truck. I think it looks good. It's sparse, but that's how these trucks were. All the gauges work as does the back light so you can see the gauges at night.

All exterior lights work including the turn signals. Wipers work as well. It's a good old truck and the fact that it was a Special Ordered Truck, specified by the door data tag, is pretty neat. I took a photo of the door tag and decoded it for potential buyers. The truck also has newer 16" wheels with like new BF Goodrich All Terrain T/A Tires.

Great looking truck that is ready to enjoy. No major leaks. Very clean and straight. This is a great weekend driver truck or a gift for that deserving someone that they are going to really enjoy owning.

A number of people asked for bed photos and saw that it was showing the original Rangoon Red showing through. So I did a spray in bed liner on the bed floor and repainted the inner bed panels.

Looks really good and is functional for a truck. Photo in the photos section of the listing.
