1940 Ford Standard

STK 2061 1940 Ford Coupe If you decide to build a top-shelf street rod, you must oversee each aspect of the process. Case in point, this 1940 Ford Standard Coupe. The attention to detail in this car is unbelievable. It was a complete frame-off restoration. Look at the photos - from the flawless 2011 Cadillac Magnum Steel paint to the powerful drivetrain, this '40 Ford is a well-executed build. Everything is top-shelf. The solid body was refinished to perfection, new underside floor panels were installed and all of the original 'heavy steel' chromework was re-chromed and reused. Under the hood is a 302 Blue Oval, built and balanced by Harrington's Engine and Machine, Taylorsville, NC. The block was bored .030 over, crank journals were turned .010, aluminum heads, roller cam/lifters w/1.6 stainless rockers, hi-rise intake, dual-feed Holley, Walker radiator and tube headers. Our current owner boasts that it makes 350 horsepower (with a sly smile). The small block is mated to a 3-speed automatic w/overdrive and a Ford 9" differential with 2.78:1 gearing. The chassis sports rack-and-pinion power steering, power disc/drum brakes, upgraded rear leaf springs and custom TruSpoke 16" wire wheels. New Michelins complete the suspension configuration. The beautiful silver/gray high-grade vinyl interior is well designed with comfortable bucket/bench seats and accented with a stunning custom-painted dash that looks better than real walnut. A complete complement of vintage-style gauges monitors the mechanicals. The custom "Banjo" wheel rests on a tilt column assembly. Creature comforts include: A/C, power windows and an AM/FM/CD stereo with Bluetooth. This is a One-Off '40 Ford. Any one of us would be proud to own this beautiful machine. ALL VEHICLES SOLD "AS IS".
