History: The 302 runs great, good and strong. C4 auto Transmission and 8" rear end with traction bars. This Mustang was parked under a carport in Louisiana in 2000 where a previous owner had dreams of restoring after the Alternator gauge in the original dash melted. He tore the car apart and then like always let it sit. After 15 years of sitting I acquired the car in boxesand spent thousands to what you see here. The floor pans were replaced in areas. All of the exterior sheet metal is original metal. There was some small metalwork on panels were there was rust.Otherwise bumpers, grille, emblems, park lamps, mouldings are all new with exception of the windshield moulding. All glass is original but the windshield does show it's age. What I did do was take this plainlooking white Ford with a vinyl top and blue interior was to make it one tough looking muscle car. Here are my upgrades:1. Upgrade the dash to the woodgrain Mach 1 cluster. With new cluster printed circuit.2. Front and rear period correct spoilers.3. Black reflective side stripes. The non-boss stripes.4. Hood isoffan original 70 mach 1with scoop. (this hood and drivers fender I believe are the only replacement panels on the exterior of the car *with exception of the floor pans)5. Brand New 15" Magnum 500 wheels. With new BF Goodrich RWL tires. 15×7 IN front 15×8 in the rear.(less then 25 miles on them)6. Upgrade Steering wheel to a 3 spoke wood wheel.7. New chrome wheel lip mouldings.8.Monte Carlo bar and fender brace upgrades. Essential for better handling.9. Upgrade point ignition to an electronic ignition with all new parts.10. Replaced an upgraded the power steering pump to a Borgeson unit with all new hoses and brackets.11. Paint is a candy Apple red with a #2 flake metallic.Metallic flake is gorgeous in the sunlight.12. New Vintage lookAM/FM aftermarket Stereo with two new rear 6x9 speakers. Also has Aux input for your phone.13. All new carpet, headliner, package tray, dash cap, radio bezel, seat upholstery (period correct), door panels, lock knobs, front window handles, outside door handles. Lots of new pieces in the interior.14. New weatherstip kit, new rubber doors, roofrail, trunk, hood seal, windowfelts, quarter windows etc.
This is a gorgeous DRIVER. Not a restored trailer queen car. This is type of Mustang you driveandenjoy. The car was painted in May 2015 and the had a 3 coats of clear added in winter of 2016 and buffed out. Looks very nice but not show car paint. Body is very nice but not perfect. There are imperfections (some verylittle waves from elbows on the tops of fendersand some very smallimpressions (not dings) on the doors).A great car to tinker and have fun and it could still use some love for a DIY. Originally an AC car, but was long disconnected before my ownership, Power steering, Drum brakes (I replaced all wheel cylinders, hoses, and rear lines and had the brakes serviced. But a new owner could upgrade to a disc brake set up. Also the previous owner had a racing shifter in the car. I went for the stock look and put an original shifter back. Lastly the dual remote racing mirrors appear to be from a newer Mustang.
Car is sold as-is. No warranty.
