1972 FORD RANCHERO GT Q

This auction is for one original survivor Ford, GT “Q” code Ranchero. Complete history is not known, but it is believed that this car was originally sold in Texas or Colorado, where it remained for most of it’s life until it found the way to Phoenix about mid 90s, when we bought it in early 2014. During that time, it appears nothing was done to restoring the car. The Ranchero has, factory AC, dash tach, and dash gauges. (see photo) The original miles are not known. The seats are gone, the dash is complete and in nice condition. This is an original un-restored car.

Vin tag reads:2 A 48 Q 1xxxx(title matches)

48= ranchero GT (source Ranchero decoder)

Q=351 4V (351 V-8 248 hp (1972-74, source Ranchero decoder)

Pillar tag reads (tag is present and fully in tacked but faded, and difficult to read so if I have something wrong it is because I read it wrong.

Trim= 76R

Color= believe it to read “E”

??? = unknown, not very readable

Axle= believe it to read “0”

DSO= believe it to read “97R

Again, the tag is all there, just faded and difficult to read with my aging eyes. ”

  • We thought to restoring the car, but my son will be starting college and there is no time, or storage so it is being sold. Everything that we removed from the car is marked, bagged and tagged. The Ranchero photos are recent, (taken 3/12) of the exact car. We are avid car buffs purely as a hobby, as shown in the photo with the mustang, (which was just sold), a 93 vett and 59 RR cloud.

    My ebay rating of 100% as buyer or seller clearly speaks for itself, and over the past 12 years used ebay to sell, one 1935 packard v12, one 1969 XKE convertible jag, one 1958 SL190 convertible Mercedes, one classic mustang sold and shipped to Holland, the black 2006 Supercharged mustan, and most recent a 73 cougar, all with positive rating response. (obviously the photo of the 3 cars are not part of this auction, just to show our commitment to the automobile.

    We are committed to completing a smooth transaction, so if you have any doubts, for both our sake, please do not bid. Lastly, the reserve is relatively low for the condition. There is no buy it now, but if you wish to, please send an offer.
