This ad is a RELIST, due to an issue regarding the shipping costs, where the winner decided not to buy the car, to which we reached mutual understanding, hence the relist.

Please if you are outside of the Arizona state, consider shipping, on this non-running car needing full restoration.

Since the last auction, I have obtained, various quotes and have at least 2 companies that could be considered to moving this car. By providing this cost, we are NOT accepting any shipping responsibility, which is the sole responsibility of the bidder/winner, and is intended to serve as a reference only. all costs to your specific zip code may vary. so please obtain a quote before bidding, our zip is 85210,

Mid west between 600-750

Connecticut / New York area 850 - 1100

All else in this ad remains the same as before, other that the reserve is low and pretty much matches the last auction price, and we have added a buy it now.

This auction is for one original survivor Ford, GT “Q” code Ranchero. Complete history is not known, but it is believed that this car was originally sold in Texas or Colorado, where it remained for most of it’s life until it found the way to Phoenix about mid 90s, when we bought it in early 2014. During that time, it appears nothing was done to restoring the car. The Ranchero has, factory AC, dash tach, and dash gauges. (see photo) The original miles are not known. The seats are gone, the dash is complete and in nice condition. This is an original un-restored car.

Vin tag reads:2 A 48 Q 1xxxx(title matches)

A= ???--- Believed to be: A = Atlanta GA Assembly Plant (source internet).

48= ranchero GT (source Ranchero decoder)

Q=351 4V (351 V-8 248 hp (1972-74, source Ranchero decoder)

Pillar tag reads (tag is present and fully in tacked but faded, and difficult to read so if I have something wrong it is because I read it wrong.

Trim= 76R

Color= believe it to read “E”

??? = unknown, not very readable

Axle= believe it to read “0”

DSO= believe it to read “97R

Again, the tag is all there, just faded and difficult to read with my aging eyes. ”

Over all condition,

  • “Mostly” complete and non-running, non-operational,
  • Frame is solid as are the body panels
  • We acquired the car partially assembled, as shown in the photos, we did no body repairs or anything, just removed various parts in prep for painting.
  • Engine is believed to be the correct 4V “Q” code 351 cleveland with auto transmission.
  • Glass: Windshield is NEW, door glass & rear good condition, the windshield was professionally installed & during the install we took photos – no rust or repairs in the window pillars..
  • Chrome, and moldings: good condition and appear all there. driver condition only, many dents nicks to all the moldings.
  • Body panels: appear original, with one small rust hole in passenger door (see photo)
  • AC: does not work, and not complete in engine bay, all parts present in dash
  • Interior: missing carpet, to show floors (no rust or repairs) missing seats.
  • Tires: the car will be sold with rolling steel wheels only, if the bidder/winner wants the chrome rims shown in photos, the auction will add $200.00 over the final selling price.
  • Power disk brake front, with drum in rear.
  • The bumpers are there and in nice condition, with all brackets (rear bolts may be missing)
  • The lights are all present and installed,
  • There are many parts that are included in this auction, such as misc brackets, fan shroud, radiator, valances, hood latch, etc.
  • We thought to restoring the car, but my son will be starting college and there is no time, or storage so it is being sold. Everything that we removed from the car is marked, bagged and tagged. I am sure there may be some missing parts, so plan on buying some parts.as with any restoration project.

    The Ranchero photos are recent, (taken 3/12) of the exact car. We are avid car buffs purely as a hobby, as shown in the photo with the mustang, (which was just sold), a 93 vett and 59 RR cloud.

    My ebay rating of 100% as buyer or seller clearly speaks for itself, and over the past 12 years used ebay to sell, one 1935 packard v12, one 1969 XKE convertible jag, one 1958 SL190 convertible Mercedes, one classic mustang sold and shipped to Holland, the black 2006 Supercharged mustan, and most recent a 73 cougar, all with positive rating response. (obviously the photo of the 3 cars are not part of this auction, just to show our commitment to the automobile.

    We are committed to completing a smooth transaction, so if you have any doubts, for both our sake, please do not bid. Lastly, the reserve is relatively low for the condition. There is no buy it now, but if you wish to, please send an offer.
