MotoeXotica Classic Cars is pleased to present this handsome and rarely seen 1940 Ford Pickup. Retaining its steel body, his very rare classic truck was painstakingly restored by hand to its current glory from the ground up. It was a 2012 Goodguys Rods & Customs Southwest Nationals award winner and was featured in the Goodguys 2014 calendar!

In 1940, hings started out well for Ford. Ford trucks took on car styling all of them featured fresh styling cues, ith lighter duty models resembling their automobile cousins.. And most truck enthusiast will agree that the 1940 with its stylish new looks and essentially short run because of the start of the war makes these highly sought after and collectible. In addition to this incredible truck, ne of the things that makes this era stand out from the rest of classic car/truck world has got to be the Flat Head V-8 engine that is now recognized as one of Fords most important developments of all time. They were tremendously powerful and equally as reliable.

Finished in brilliant Sunburst “candy” metallic paint, his all steel body pickup is show quality with only very minor imperfections visible upon close inspection. Hand painted dual tan pinstripe tastefully adds contrast to the body. The side mounted spare matches the other four wheels and tires and gives it a very iconic look. All the trim is present, omplete and displays well with a bright finish. The front and rear chrome bumpers with over riders are extremely tight and finish is excellent. The weather-stripping is pliable, ith little or no signs of drying, earing or shrinkage. Fresh oak cargo-bed floor and new stainless steel strips adorn the truck bed, ven the bed posts receive the same fresh oak treatment! The custom 16 inch wheels present well with little to no signs of wear visible.

Inside, he cabin features a lovely custom two-tone reddish tobacco upholstery with crushed velour inserts on the seats and door panels as well as unique embroidered flame pattern for added custom effect. The refurbished original equipment gauges are in their correct places which gives the interior a nice original accent, hey all function properly. The original equipment two spoke steering wheel is in excellent condition and functions as designed,a nice contrast to the custom interior appointments.

This no expense spared built ’40 pickup is nicely equipped with a chrome accessorized and upgraded 239cid Ford flathead V8 engine, olley 1 barrel carburetor, hree speed manual transmission, pen rear differential, our wheel drum brakes and more. 16 inch Ford steel wheels with beauty rings painted tan to match the tan pinstripe are wrapped with Coker Classic whitewalls on all five tires and give the truck a very nice period look.

It’s impossible to mention the all-time classic pickup models and not included the 1940 Ford pickup. The builder of this particular “labor of love” did a fantastic job of planning and executing this restoration, rom the blazing sunburst exterior to the chrome acorns on the cylinder heads, ll work together to make this the most beautiful 40 pickup we ever seen!… GET OUT AND DRIVE!
