BODYWORK/TRIM

Steal a glance at this Mustang's super slick body and you'll see what high quality craftsmanship that's performed by a dedicated group of individuals truly looks like. Those individuals knuckle down at a place called Thoroughbred in Canfield, hio. And, ver the course of 2,600 hours, hey transformed what was a tired, 0-year old mule into a SEMA featured Goodguys winner. The car's ground-up reboot began with a solid steel body that was augmented with a custom hood, custom front valance and Detroit Speed wheel tubs. Once intense labor had blended that metalwork into excellent fit and finish, glossy layer of Race Red base was sealed in slick and durable clear. And, fter that clear had been polished and wet-sanded to a mirror-like shine, his gallant pony emerged as a quixotic custom that champions classic style and world-class workmanship.

It's obvious Ford has always sweated the details on the Mustang. And with its custom trim and fresh bolt-on pieces, his fastback presents a professionally finished appearance that goes far beyond nice paint. At the front of the car, edline LumTronix halos frame a stylish billet grille and thin Maier Racing bumper. Behind that grille, plexi-trimmed hood anchors slick lanyards in front of tinted glass that's framed in straight Charcoal stainless. At the sides of that glass, traditionally sculpted profile lays the groundwork for shaved fenders, haved doors and shaved quarters. And at the back of that profile, second Maier bumper reflects trick Watson taillights and a custom decklid spoiler

ENGINE

Hoist this coupe's snug fitting hood and you'll find 427 cubic inches of stroked V8 that was professionally assembled by the pros at TNT Engineering. Combining Ford's proven 351 Windsor block with almost $17K worth of parts and labor, his buff welterweight wraps a Carrillo forged crank, CAT H-Beam rods and forged Probe pistons in a full array of show stopping aesthetics. At the top of the Jet Black mill, ight Inglese EMPI carburetors make excellent use of a custom throttle linkage, ustom fuel lines and a small Marshall pressure gauge. The resulting air/fuel mixture makes its way from a polished Weber intake to Ford Racing heads, hich hide Comp springs, EV stainless valves and Ford Racing roller rockers under TNT-themed valve covers. Between those heads, Comp hydraulic cam bumps high quality Rhoads lifters in to tough Manley pushrods. When those rods flood the cylinders, Mallory billet distributor sequences fire between an MSD coil and Autolite Professional Series plug wires. Resultant combustion is cooled by a massive Be Cool radiator, hich stores water between two electric puller fans and a snazzy catch can. Charging comes courtesy of a Billet Specialties Truetrac accessory drive, hich spins modern power steering and a Cloyes double roller timing set between coated JBA headers. And overall the car's custom engine compartment is exceptionally well done, eaturing first-rate ancillaries like machined brace bars, ingbrothers hood hinges, Ringbrothers clutch reservoir, Melling oil pump and an ARP oil pump drive.

DRIVETRAIN/SUSPENSION

The bottom of this awesome Mustang is just as impressive as its slick exterior and smooth engine bay. Behind the mean motor you'll find a T5 5-speed that's wedged between a hydraulic, ual-friction clutch and blowproof bellhousing. Lift the third pedal and that custom gearbox engages a narrowed G2 Ford axle that spins big, .73 gears. Stopping is a cinch thanks to Wilwood 6-piston calipers, hich squeeze 13-inch slotted rotors. Exhaust is handled by mandrel-bent, ide-exit pipes, hich are custom-snaked around an H-shaped crossover and glasspack-style mufflers. In front of the transmission, ubular Anthony Jones Engineering control arms and adjustable Anthony Jones Engineering coil-overs augment Ford power rack-and-pinion steering. At the sides of the rear end, n Anthony Jones Engineering 4-link is fitted with two more adjustable Anthony Jones Engineering coil-overs. At the corners of the car, oated Budnik G-Series wheels spin 225/40R18 Nitto Invos in front of 275/35ZR18 Nitto Invos. And all this fastback's details, rom its fabricated oil pan and high-torque mini starter to its Lizard Skin floors and fresh stainless fuel cell, ave been carefully planned and professionally executed.

INTERIOR

Pop the car's doors and you'll find an attractive, ell-rounded interior that was installed by the experts at Johnson's Custom Upholstery in Struthers, hio. Firm Corbeau GTS II buckets feature tight leather covers. In front of those seats, custom dash hangs Dakota Digital gauges and Watson's StreetWorks switches in front of high quality American Autowire Highway 22 wiring. Below that dash, it carpet balances a small handbrake and PRO-5.0 shifter between billet foot pedals and thick Dynamat insulation. At the edge of that carpet, ustom side panels hang billet cranks and handles above custom sill plates. At the back of those sills, Shelby-style roll bar anchors Crow Enterprizes Blackbird restraints. In front of the driver, classy Moto-Lita steering wheel spins around a tilting Ididit column. And behind the passengers, body-matched trunk hides a Shelby-style fuel filler and proven Optima battery beneath snazzy billet hinges.
