1960 Ford F-100

The 1960 Ford trucks were a great combination of old styling details with a modern work ethic, and this handsome F-100 is well dressed enough to go just about anywhere. It's also got a strong-running 390, an updated interior, and a ready-to-go look that's extremely appealing. The two-tone paint combination is exactly right on this bright hauler, combining a kind of '50s sensibility with an updated look that was definitely going full speed into the '60s. Professionally restored by some well-known shops in the Dallas area, it has a sparkling clean look with very few signs of use that's indicative of both good base stock and quality work. There are dramatic body lines on this vintage hauler that make it stand apart from its Brand X competitors, particularly the flared fenders and muscular hood that suggests power and durability lives underneath. There's also lots of bright chrome and stainless trim which makes the blue-collar Ford look quite upscale, and all of it was restored at the same time the truck was painted. That kind of work isn't cheap, even on a truck, yet it pays big dividends in the eyeball department, because this Ford is a knockout. Perfect? No, but there aren't many of these around and even fewer restored to this level. Heck, even the bed is finished with a spray-in bedliner that is color-matched to the body. Nice! The interior isn't quite stock, but it sure looks great with a period-correct two-tone seat cover on the factory bench seat. Pleated vinyl is both durable and probably pretty close to what it had originally, and the colors match the exterior and give it a bright disposition inside. Under the skin there's plenty of Dynamat Xtreme sound deadening material so it is quiet and comfortable inside, particularly with the under-dash A/C system. And keeping it quiet is doubly important so you can enjoy the hidden AM/FM/CD stereo system featuring an iPod Nano, JLAO amplifier and subwoofer, plus Infinity K speakers that fill the cab with sound. Overhead there's a custom headliner (FORD in reverse), there's new wiring throughout, and seatbelts were added for safety. Original gauges cover the basics but look great doing it and the big steering wheel offers a commanding driving position that feels right for a truck.A burly 390 cubic inch V8 gives this vintage pickup the moves of a muscle car and offers upgrades like an Edelbrock carburetor, finned valve covers and air cleaner, and a cackling Magnaflow dual exhaust system. Lots of recent maintenance means it runs beautifully, still torquey like a truck but happy to run all day at highway speeds. The A/C compressor dominates the engine bay, but it's always cool to see such a rare option still using original components although there's R134a refrigerant inside. The 3-speed automatic transmission shifts without effort and the heavy-duty 9-inch rear end is still ready to work. New Monroe shocks all around give it a surprisingly smooth ride and the undercarriage is clean and well-maintained with no scary surprises waiting for the new owner. Classic painted steel wheels with dog dish hubcaps and trim rings are dressed up with a set of 205/75/15 Coker wide whitewall radials all around.Complete with owner's manuals and restoration receipts, this is a rare treat that's in excellent condition and remains ready to enjoy. Trucks are hot, and this unusual Ford stands out in a crowded field. Call today!
