1974 Fiat Other
The Fun Side: Very Fun Car to own. Acquired vehicle 2 years ago not running. I have since done more restoration work and now the vehicle runs very well. Replaced convertible top. interior carpet. seats. dash wood and stereo. Replaced tires. wheels with new factory powder coated wheels. New brakes with calipers. hardware. hoses. bearings. and brake lines. Replaced windshield frame and repaired electrical to working condition. Ignition was upgraded from points/condenser style to modern electronic. Translation; it starts. As of the time of this writing everything works. Very fun car to drive. 4 Wheel Disc brakes were factory. It does not require California Smog Testing. but does have all Smog equipment from that era installed by previous owner. I did not want to take the risk of breaking anything removing the smog parts. Engine has aprox 2500 miles on it. It was completely rebuilt 12 years ago by the previous owner. The dark side: It is a classic Fiat. There are patches of rust on the undercarage. This can be removed and repaired by a competent body repair specialist or enthusiast with time and space. The Story: Originally purchased for my daughter to drive to school. After realizing that today's kids are used to "modern" vehicles with anti-lock brakes. air bags and passive restraints. and automatic transmissions. it became clear that the Fiat was not for her. After multiple thousands of dollars in continued restoration time. it is time to pass this fun car to the next owner for some continued good times.
