Description:

1972 Fiat Other

here is my 72 128sl which i recently bought on a whim.
it is right hand drive and was originally sold in New Zealand. it was built and raced in NZ and australia until around 2009 when it was imported here it ended up being listed on ebay in south carolina and was sold for 5 grand in 2010.
i recently bought it because i had cash burning a hole in my pocket and i was sold after the test drive!
over the past few weeks i fixed several small problems with it and have made it a reliable daily driver that can be driven to PIR pass tech inspection and race in vintage classes and very competetively with its potent 1500 x19 engine that was built by a reputable builder in NZ. Im not sure of the specs on the engine but it is very fast and sounds fantastic with its twin 40mm dellortos and 4-2-1 header system. the engine revs smoothly and is very well tuned. runs flawlessly on 92 pump gas with no hint of pinging.
-it has the rare and sought after Marelli "plex201" cdi ignition system!
-1500 x19 engine mated to 128 4 speed with limited slip diff. just changed the gear oil to redline mt90
-4 wheel disc brakes with new master cylinder flex hoses and resovoir
-coil overs in the front and koni shocks all around
-just replaced entire charging system with nice bosch alternator and solid state regulator
-just changed the oil using vr1 20-50
-just revamped the cooling system using new high quality water pump, hoses and nos fiat coolant return pipe
- new street tire on nice cromodora wheels. have another set with toyo race tires.
- fully integrated dom tubed cage chassis welded at all 4 corners
-entire chassis has been seam welded!
- can and will rev to 10k!
- does not smoke or make bad noises. starts and drives reliably
- really nice windshield wipers 2 speed with intermittent setting
-nice interior with race legal seats and harnesses.
very oversprung and rides real stiff but is fully adjustable front to rear
not shown in pics are the new master and resevoir which is remote mounted.
overall car is very solid but does have some rust. the floors and rockers are perfect however. this car is a race car and it is not perfect but looks great especially when you give it the beans!
oregon title and current registration
starts right up and idles smoothly with a hint of lumpy cam idle.
I will post better pics and take a gopro vid of it in action. this car sounds amazing!
