1982 Ferrari 308 GTSi ADDITIONAL PHOTOS ON Only 17,325 Miles From New Excellent Maintenance History, Always Dealer Serviced Grigio Metallic over Red Leather (Rare and Stunning!) All Books, Manuals, Window Sticker, and Receipts VIN: ZFFAA02A8C0040405 We purchased this fantastic 308 GTSi from a doctor in the Chicago suburbs who had owned the car for the last sixteen years. Please inquire for scanned service records, but this car was meticulously maintained throughout his ownership, with the overwhelming majority of the service work being done at Lake... Forest Sportscars here in Illinois. The car is phenomenally well-sorted and is an absolute riot to drive. It truly feels every bit as smooth and fresh as a well-taken-care-of, 17k mile example should. As it sits now, this car is in need of nothing. With recent services, the removable targa top, and functional air conditioning and radio, this car is ready for a long summer of enjoyment. Exterior: - Please see the video along with the listing, as the car is shown in detail. Blemishes are all shown close-up and under direct sunlight, though there are few. There are a couple very minor touched-up chips, as well as a little nick along the bottom of the driver's door. - Wheels are in excellent shape, having been refinished just 3,000 miles ago. No damage, curb rash, or blemishes whatsoever. Correct Michelin TRX tires look great, with no dryness and minimal wear, having seen 3,000 miles of road use in the ten years they've been on the car. - Glass and light lenses are all clear and crack-free. There is one tiny little chip on the lower windscreen, easy to miss. Lights and signals are all functional. - This is a factory Grigio Metallic (code 700C) car, which suits it beautifully. Much more striking in person than the red we often see on these cars. The car presumably has seen a little bit of paintwork, as a paint gauge shows areas of 4.0-5.0 (would indicate original paint), and other spots of 8.0-9.5 (consistent with one respray). But with Ferraris of this era, who knows, the paint probably wasn't very evenly sprayed to begin with. Regardless, paint looks great and shows very little for signs of age or blemishes. Nothing more than a couple little chips, please see the video for close-ups. No visible paint run, dust nibs, orange peel, etc. - Targa top is like-new. It was refinished and the headliner done in late 2005, and still looks like new. Interior: - Original interior is in nice shape. Seats, door panels, and center console were redyed at the dealer in 2003, and the color remains vibrant. Observable wear is minimal, really limited to minor aging on the driver's outer bolster. Again, please defer to the photos and video. Door panels are free of any kicked-open markings or other damage. - Odometer reads 17,325 miles and is functional and accurate based on known history and documentation. R12 air conditioning blows nice and cold and was most recently gone-through in 2014. Heat and fan are functional as well. Kenwood radio is functional, wipers, all interior lights, and power windows are all functional, even the analog clock still works. Handbrake is functional as well. Never smoked in. - Removable targa top is nice and light; it can easily be taken off or put back on by one person. - Red carpeting is in excellent shape, with no areas of significant wear and no sunbleaching or discoloring. Under the Hood / Underbody: - Please inquire for a scan of all of this car's major service records. This car has always been dealer-serviced, with suggested maintenance never deferred. The most noteworthy services include timing belt/tensioners/water pump services in 2000 at 10k miles and again in 2014 at 16,200 miles (1,100 miles ago), replacement of the clutch, throwout bearing, pressure plate, rear main seal, and resurfacing of the flywheel (Lake Forest Sportscars, August '03, 12,500 miles), a complete disassembly and cleaning of the fuel system (tanks, injectors, lines, etc) following exposure to contaminated fuel (Lake Forest Sportscars, December '03, 12,700 miles), as well as a handful of other, less significant services. - Underbody looks quite good. Please take a look through the photos. No through rust anywhere, very much structurally sound. - The car runs and drives extremely well. It fires right up first turn, idles cool and steady, shifts nice and smoothly both up and down, accelerates with no hesitation, brakes straight and effectively, and tracks straight down the road. Clutch feel is great. Car sounds excellent. Truly a well-sorted driver that we wouldn't hesitate to take on a road trip tomorrow.
