1964 Dodge Polara golden anniversary

1964 Dodge Polara 2 door hardtop. 50th Anniversary edition. Very solid car. 318 Wide block V8 Automatic transmission.
Last year for the automatic push button transmission. Last year for the Polara as a sport coupe B Body. Has aftermarket air.
I bought this car from the long time owners family in Iowa. Always was a local car since it was new. It has sat since about 2000 or so. I got it running. I rebuilt the carburetor, installed a new fuel tank and sending unit. Complete tune. It does run and drive. The engine sounds very good. I drove it approximately 5 miles. Transmission shifted well. Fresh oil change too. I installed new front brake shoes and adjusted the rears. To make this car a daily driver you'd want to probably install brake hoses and wheel cylinders, and new drums and Install all new rubber hoses belts under the hood. Tires are very old.
I believe the engine and transmission are original to the car. No VIN on them though. The engine sounds good. When cold maybe a light lifter tick but not for long. speedometer fuel gauge and all other guages work. The odometer doesen't work. It shows a bit over 60K. The owners son told me it was broken. After driving it. I can confirm this.
This is a low number car. It was the 45 car built. It is also from what i'm told it is an anniversary edition. Supposedly the only way to tell is the steering wheel emblem, and anniversary cars were early produced. It is not gold. However it is a pearl white. I believe this to be not your average run of the mill '64 Polara.
The body is very solid. Sometime in mid sixties it was heavily undercoated along the lower body, rear fender wells. This i'm sure helped the body. All the sheet metal appears original. The correct lower body tabs are still present on the lower quarters. I took a magnet to this whole boy. I had a VERY TIGHT bond all the way around it, with the exception of the passenger side lower fender. Where the pentastar emblem should be. There is a bit of rust there way down low too.. Not bad the worst I see on the whole car! It appears to have had some spray here and there over the years. I base that on some cracking in the paint here and there. I would estimate about 89% original paint. There appears to be a paint blisters by the back window near the deck lid, not bad. The trunk floor seems solid but is scaled with orange surface rust. When I removed the tank it looked very soild from the bottom. The body deadener applied to the inner quarter panels are still present. Some of it has fallen off. Overall a solid original spackel paint trunk.
The stainless trim down the sides, around the windows etc are awesome! The bumpers are aged. Re chromeable. Grill and headlight bezels above average. Tail light bezels acceptable. original dealer advertisement emblem on deck lid and in owners manual. Glass all original, I believe, and useable.
Interior is all original with the exception of the padded dash I believe. The front seats needs re upholstered. The back seat, door panels, headliner, carpet is good original. All windows roll down. Doors open / close fine.
The build sheet is still under the rear seat. I have not removed it. The fender tag is present too. No surprises with this classic mopar.
To sum this car up...I would classify it as a solid Mopar survivor needing very little to make her a dependable driver. Or an extreemly souild car to build a gasser of drag car out of. Although I'd hate to see that happen to it.
I have a collection of Mopars. This one was a car I wantedd to keep, but you know the story...Room Time etc. I hold a Nebraska resale certificate to keep my hobby legal. I've had it over 20 years when I ran a car lot. Now I just collect and occasionally sell one or two off. Superior Auto in Omaha Ne.
My feedback is 100% I describe my items as accurately as possible. I get a little long winded but don't want there to be any surprises when you get the car. The World wide web is a scary place! All paperwork will be handled in a professional manor. Yes this car has a title.
The car is obviuosly sold as is. As it is a 54 year old unmolested car. If you deem something important....call...I'll answer as best i can. Have it inspected. I just need a bit of notice. If your a Mopar nut like me,You'll like the car. Transportation is up to you.

To answer a few questions..Yes the radio works. It's only an AM. I am located in an industrial area about a mile off I 80 in Omaha. I do have the jack and a spare. And yes there are drips on the ground under the engine. The power steering was leaking so I just replaced the low pressure Power steering hose. That I believe was most of the leaking. This is an original car. Not restored. 54 years old in all aspects. But clean. You should be very happy with the car. I am. You can replace driveability components, buff out the paint, buy the front seat cover from legendary, radial tires and have a fun low budget cruiser next summer. Or restore and hot rod it. The possibilities are endless. Such a cool body style. One of the coolest '64's I've ever seen was a gasser straight axle polara when I was a kid in the late 60's. Metal flake green with green windows and green metal flake vinyl seats! Thanks for the inquiries!
