Description:

1974 Dodge Charger SE

Up for sale is one 1974 Dodge Charger SE with a 440 motor. This is a project car. This car would make someone a good winter project, but it needs a lot of work to get back on the road again, so please don't assume I am selling you a great running car that "just needs a little work" - I want to be honest about it up front.
The car has a lot of the body work done but will need some finishing. Any major body issues have already been addressed and the car has been laid in primer so you can strip and sand or not and just get it running and go.
The 440 will crank but I believe it may have spun a bearing, worst case scenario. That being said, the motor is going to need to be pulled, flipped over, and looked at before it is cranked again unless you want to risk killing it. I don't know exactly what's wrong but a friend said he thought the rear main may be loose, but I really don't know. All I know for sure is something is wrong in the bottom of her and its not a knock - its more like a squawk. I saw the car drive down the road a year ago. I was told then that the motor came out of a truck and has a hopped up cam and 6 pack rods. Note that the car has duel exhaust and long tube headers.
Originally this was a 400 column shift car, but the car has been modified to a 440 floor shifting car with a B&M shifter.
Car has the Rally Dash with 120 speedo and Clock. The front seat is the bench seat with an arm rest.
The ignition failed on the car so it was pulled and the tumbler was taken out. I have the key to it but it is useless. You can still crank the car at the switch, you just need another ignition to make a key function. (No it has not been hot wired - the tumbler was just removed.)
If you have any questions about the car you are more than welcome to call and ask. I can send more pictures or discuss any other details. I have several of these cars and am just thinning the herd to try to keep the MRS happy.
If you want a cool Driver that you could lay on at the stop light and show someone what real Mopar Power is about, or just work on a cool classic and learn as you go, this may be for you.
Note: Alabama is a Bill of sale only state, so I CANNOT get you a Title. It is impossible. I'm sorry but they don't issue titles on cars that are over 35 years old here - I've tried and they just DON'T. Other states usually honor this but I highly suggest you check on your states rules before you bid. If you Bid on the car please please PLEASE be prepared to buy the car. It messes me up really bad if you bid then don't buy - so please honor the system. If you win the Bid, I'm a pretty easy guy to work with but I ask that you pay $500 down within 48 hrs.The rest can be paid at pickup or anytime prior but must be paid before the car leaves. I don't mind if it stays here while you get arrangements made but please be attentive to picking it up. For instance, if you needed a month to get it and you paid the $500 down - that's not a problem - but after a month I would seriously be ready to wrap things up. Either way, any down payment is non-refundable. It's simple really though, just do what you say your going to do and I'll be an easy guy to work with.
Car is being sold As Is - Where Is and no warranty is implied. Call me if you need further information - Two Five Six Two Two Seven Six Four Five One. Good luck and happy Bidding.
